Not too surprised really.

Capello: "It is of course a blow to lose Ledley King from the squad. He is a very good player who has impressed me a lot when I have seen him play. I am fully aware of his injury status after speaking with Juande Ramos on Friday".

Get better for the final Ledders

On a funnier note, Carrick has been left out too and he's not injured. He got a mixed reaction today, then he started moaning to the ref at every opportunity (something he obviously learnt since he's been at Man U), hence the chants of 'What a waste of money...'

any danger of ramos (or anyone else) letting us know exactly what is going on with king?

I hope that Ramos just said 'look here Fabio, we are bringing King back very slowly to ensure he doesn't get injured this badly again. He will play the odd important game and when needed in case of injuries this season, but we'd prefer it if you did not pick him for meaningless friendlies.'

But I'm thinking BEN might have been right about that thigh strain or whatever it was.

Capello: I want King for England

Ramos: He's just returning from a long injury lay off

Capello: And? I want him in my squad.

Ramos: Senor Capello, I'm not sure you understand, you fucking retard. We have a cup final in 3 weeks and i ain't letting you fucking have him for a pointless friendly where he'll probably break both his knees. Got it? GOT IT?

Capello: Ok. *right, i'm shoving that little chav in the U21's now*

I'm pretty sure that's how it went.

This was a nailed-on certainty. Capello was always going to want King in his squad, because he's England's best centre-back, so named him in the initial 30. Equally, Ramos was never actually going to let him join up with the squad for a tinpot friendly. Everyone's (relatively) happy.

yeah, i have a feeling (if king can stay consistantly fit) that he will be capellos main defender in the england team.

(i´ve had a drink or 2 so forgive me) but i´m a bit fucking frustrated that we´re relying on some bloke up a tree for information on our most important player. not a word on the official site. not before not subsequently.

it´s fucking cynical that the site wastes not a millisecond in selling us stuff and putting new player interviews on a paysite, but this is taking the piss. perhaps spending 800 quid following the team isn´t enough.

dougal reckons we can´t handle the truth. personally i can´t stand the silence.

I find it hilarious that we have to learn of King's 'situation' from a mainly offhand comment on a mostly unrelated topic.

King isn't injuried because nothing reported in team news.

I think Ramos told him about resting King as he was injuried for long time and it not right to pick him quickly, and I think Ramos picked Woodgate instead of him just because Woody will miss our next game and it is better to keep King fitter next week.

the worrying thing is how they don't even mention King in conjunction with squads anymore, so it's a surprise whether he plays or not

And Capello has been made aware of King's injury situation......WELL FUCKING LET US KNOW YOU BIG NOSED, CURLY HAIRED, PERMA TAN WEARING, BO SELECTA FACE MASK LOOKING MUTHA FUCKER!!

i miss Ledley

and the thought of Hutton, Woody, Ledders, Gilberto
makes me want to drink my own man chowder :hump:

See, I understand what you're saying, but he's been 'rested' for quite a few very big/important games... it just seems a bit odd that they haven't come out and said that. Yet we get an update on BAE every week, when every man and his dog knows he's out for the season...

My fears stem from the same circumstances, he was rested for Man Yoo away in the FA Cup at a time when cups are our best chance for European football next season. The silence is worrying...

agree with most of the sentiments here. King hasnt played in 11 days, which spans 3 fixtures against top teams. and while Capello has been made fully aware of his injury status, we dont know squat.

I can see why Ramos is playing his cards close to his chest, it makes sense, what's the point in putting a return date, when King's had about 5 and not made them; further worrying everyone. It makes sense that he's not being rushed back because he will get injured again if he is.

Also, although he missed the Man U game, I don't think he would have done had Woodgate not been suspended for Derby.

Yup, that's a fair point... fingers crossed he does start then...
