A more mobile Dier. CM/CB with better passing IMO. Shouldn't be very expensive.

Rumoured to have a €10-15mil release clause in the summer. Literally perfect for our system and style of play, but my only thought would be if he's 100% necessary, or if Lloyd Kelly is a better bet as a HG choice for multi-positional 4th CB option.
10-15 million euro release clause in the summer apparently.
We also seem to be looking at versatile 4th defenders. Riccardo Calafiori is another we have had some links to and can play LB and LCB.

Makes good sense to round out the squad with versatile but quality options. Got to cut the cloth in some places without sacrificing output.

Linked in the summer (and linked with Celtic the summer before) and represented by Base so could easily have legs. Can cover CB and defensive midfield, spent time with City group so I assume he’s decent on the ball. The Bundesliga website compares him to Jan Vertonghen
He’s been out for two months with an ankle injury (back now with Japan) so Gladbach have already had to figure out how to play without him; he also has a “€10-15m” release clause for next summer, which might make him more attainable this window.

I'm encouraged by the fact that Ko can play multiple positions including defensive midfield. Borussia's sporting director said the following upon signing him:
“Ko is an incredibly strong runner and a tactically-disciplined player who can play in an array of different positions across the defence, including in defensive midfield,”
Getting a good 4th option CB might be difficult with three highly regarded centre backs at the club already.
If Ange can see him playing as a defensive midfielder we would have Bissouma as a DM, but solve the squad puzzle by having Bentancur (who can play CM) and Itakura (who can play CB) as backups.

Saw this on here yesterday. Looked a real tidy player, decent size and athleticism as a CB, but also technical on the ball as an inverted full back.

Love this link. Sounds capable of covering at CB and more importantly being a viable option to cover Udogie, which is an area of concern to me.
