‘Transfer alarm’ in Bundesliga as Mourinho wants to poach – Four names discussed at Tottenham - Sport Witness
Real Sociedad’s Willian Jose has been heavily linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the final week of the winter market. José Mourinho will not be able to rely on his star striker Harry Kane due to injury and earlier reports indicated the England international may not feature again this...sportwitness.co.uk
No idea where to put this as there’s a few names. Bild saying we’re looking (with emphasis on looking) at a few from the German league, including Werner.
Levy will have it on snooze
Would love it but no chance we get Werner. Was my no.1 after Haaland would be perfect for us
Yes, but transfer alarm ... TRANSFER ALARM
Werner is clearly one of those players that is on a permanent list of ours of desired purchases should they become feasible. Son was another that was - we were interested when he left Leverkusen to go to Hamburg and maintained that interest through to when he eventually became feasible again a few years down the line. The condition of the Werner interest will ebb and flow between active to inactive as and when his circumstances change at any given time. Whilst we can question how active that pursuit currently is right now, I do believe that if the situation occurs where he becomes available, then we will at the very least be getting kept abreast of the going’s on and whether or not we would have a chance at him
One of the greatest movies ever made. It's up there with Lawrence of Arabia.
Was he DC or Marvel!
That’s right. Religious bent comics with unforgettable characters like The RevelatorBlasphemy
Interesting to see the numbers for passes, headers etc. Not sure Serie A stats offer good comparison with someone playing in Premier League. Tackles per game for a forward presumably lower in Italy? Same for headers won? Not saying he would necessarily be transformed playing in a different league but you might reasonably expect an improvement on those stats with the different style of play here.Look for the last two seasons he has averaged around 13 passes a game. This season Kane gets twenty. But typical target men get around 20-30 passes a match. In the PL Piatek in the bottom 10 strikers for touches made this season based on this season alone. Though would be slightly higher if taking the average (13).
Piatek is strong at scoring goals with his head but isn't all that in terms of winning headers. He has averaged around 2 a game in the last two seasons. This puts him slightly bellow Diego Jota and well bellow Kane's 6.5 headers a game.
His average total tackles in the last two seasons is about 0.5 a game, slightly bellow Kane's 0.6 this season. Both Kane and Piatek would be in around the middle when it comes to tackles by strikers. His interceptions are 0.2, again slightly bellow Kane's 0.3 and around the missle of the PL. His turn over isn't that high.
I mean I think he is a useful player and am very much in support of his signing. However, yes he presses and harries but he is fundamentally a poacher, who's only remarkable stat is his shots per game. He isn't particularly tall or physical, he is a hard working poacher, who can finish with both his feet and with his head. His focus in a game is to get himself into goal scoring positions, so good movement and good finishing are his strengths. But that is about it.
Now, I don't know if he suits us more, because Jose loves the long ball. In a Poch team he would suit much better. But he is currently my first choice. I'm just worried that people are imagining him to be a player he simply isn't.
Yeh there is less headers in Serie A and Piatek is 24th highest striker in the league for headers a game. Which is top 3rd instead of around half way. But it still isn't particularly strong. Tackles and interceptions, however, do not show any real difference between the leagues.Interesting to see the numbers for passes, headers etc. Not sure Serie A stats offer good comparison with someone playing in Premier League.
