I do feel bad for him. Somehow we make a 30m signing, then we don't give him that much of a chance. He could have stayed at Roma and been a part of this incredible run that they are on. Left the team that looks like they could win Serie A for a team that is a definite underdog to get into the top 4 in England.

He has had chances, he hasn't taken them at all so far. He will get more chances and once he gets more settled hopefully he'll come good.

No need to feel sorry for him, he hasn't been treated unfairly.

Cant see Hull changing their line up much for Wednesday so if he is picked he knows the standard set

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

inverted winger right.
He drifts towards his favoured position number 10.
He should be given the number 10 role against hull.

We should give him a run out in the number 10 role, no one is making it their own at the minute

i've heard south american pundits/experts describe lamela as a #10, even franco baldini has said the same. from the little i've seen of him in a spurs shirt i'd agree. lamela, eriksen and townsend/lennon should be the three(if we have to play that system) behind the striker, they are surely the most talented options we have. sigurdsson, holtby and chadli are decent squad players but probably won't prove to ever be anything more than that. i get that we're going through the "lloris" phase with lamela but hopefully it won't be for too much longer.

So what was Andre's logic for keeping Lennon on for the 90 against Sheriff then hauling Lamela off at 60?

Moronic decision making.

Give him the 90 against Hull in the cup, at minimum.

Until Lamela is given a run of games on the right or central nobody should bother judging him. He has barely played left in his career and struggles out there as it is counter productive to his style. Why AVB insists on playing him there I don't know.

For a second when it looked like Townsend's advertising board injury was serious I thought 'This is the anecdote that marks the rise of the legend Lamela'

With everyone fit I would love to see
Lloris
Walker Chiriches Vertonghen Rose
Townsend Capoue Paulinho Eriksen
Lamela
Soldado

With Eriksen and Lamela interchanging. Give the boy a run of games FFS or he will end up as a more expensive version of GDS, judged on his performances in under strength teams in meaningless cup matches. We are showing such lack of creativity and still he is left out.

Except the difference is that blocking Lloris' path to the first team was a decent, aging goalkeeper. Blocking Lamela's path to the first team is a top class young winger who has been one of, if not our best, player this season and is undroppable at the moment. Or you could argue that Eriksen and Holtby stand in his way in the #10 position.

Townsend.

He has been a beacon of hope this season but yesterday he was in the LB pocket. I counted a dozen time he tried to knock it past him and fail.

Not slating the kid as I love his passion for the club and he has loads of ability... I just feel his performances are now being massively overstated. I couldn't believe he was voted MOTM when I last checked in the ratings thread.
