Diarra has been linked away for the last few windows with us, why havnt any of the top teams in the EPL, or europe not gone for him?
I guess many Premier League clubs would be interested in signing him. He is a top quality midfielder with experience, but still quite young.

So why havnt any of them gone for him? if he is that good.

Parker has been a rock in the middle for us, he isn't past it yet and we have back up, we don't need him.

There are only a few of the english clubs who have a chance to sign a player like this. Man Utd probably feel they have cover, Chelsea and Man City in the same situation, and Arsenal would not sign him, because as I can remember, he did not get on that well with Wenger. He would never join a team like Liverpool considering the boring players they have now.

It is basically suited for Spurs.

Man u have no cover for his type or player.... So why isn't any of the other top teams in Europe not going for him?

Spurs don't need him, waste of money.

I would say it is more waste to have Parker one more year, and let him go almost for free next year. I would rather cash in on him now, that he is actually an England International. Clubs pay for that.

We don't need him, his position we could fill with a minimum 4 players in the squad, and he will be 28 next season, would rather see Sandro and Livermore get game time..

I want to see more of Sandro as well, but if we sell Parker, Diarra is a good replacement for him. I consider it as an upgrade, and he is also a bit younger.

Or we keep and England international as 1 we need home grown players and 2 no other big club is untreated in diarra like u seem to think so why should we?

The homegrown player, is a point, but I don't like the rule. Still I think we can cover the homegrown player rule with players other than Parker.

I think it goes without saying that you don't like that rule.

And yes, you are correct, there are non-white players who count as homegrown.

Im not saying he is not a good player, just that we don't need him, what is also important is that Parker was our player of the year, with a lot of fringe players being sold we still need consistency in the squad.
Parker is a good player for Livermore and Sandro to learn from, they know him and Livermore has stated on the official site that Parker has been an influence on him last season, rest and rotate Parker more and you will see a gritty performance from him every game..
Instead of chopping a player out that there is nothing wrong with i would rather we spend the money on a forward, would rather get all the cash from any Modric deal than Diarra, also check out his wiki page, 9 years and hardly played 100 first team games.. worrying...

But why change parker when we don't need too, and if parker starts as 1st choice, why would he come here if he's that good he could go to any top team to sit on the bench?

Good player but not what we need, we have parker, sandro, Livermore and hudd.

Fuck me it just wouldn't be a proper transfer window if we aren't linked to Diarra. At this rate on Aug 31st 2043 I will be reading "Spurs re-ignite interest in Diarra, hip replacement pending til after transfer"

we should've got the deal done last summer before signing parker. a sandro-diarra combo is dynamic enough to work without modric whereas i don't think sandro-parker is.

Only problem with Diarra is maybe his wages? Might be over-valuing himself a little too much? Can't think of any reason why another big club couldn't use him. Seems we're the only club in any of the big 3 leagues constantly linked with him though.

Mind you, I would be rather be linked to Diarra, than the likes of Stuart Downing.
That is a picture of what has happened lately. Liverpool moved in the Downing (Downfall) direction, Spurs have some more "football people who know their business", and that is why we are considered as a better club now. Simple as that. I luv it!! :)

"quite young" is 27? okay, but with the current roster where does that put diarra at Spurs, like 4th cm? not sure he fits the bill, but he could be a useful squad player I suppose :cautious:

Personally think Diarra's better than Parker, let alone Livermore. As someone else said he's more dynamic and is also better on the ball. Definitely don't agree that he would be a pointless signing. He would improve our first team and he could form a strong partnership with Sandro.

I agree, but we need a complement of home grown players as well.
