Lennon commits future

The Club is delighted to announce that Aaron Lennon has signed an extension to his contract that will see him at White Hart Lane until 2014.

The 21-year-old winger has featured in 41 of our 45 games so far this season and scored five goals, equalling his best scoring return in a season.

Aaron joined us from Leeds United in July, 2005 and has made 160 appearances in our colours, including starting both our League Cup finals in the past two seasons.

Good news. Not that contracts mean much in football these days. Will Man Utd come calling when Ronaldo leaves in the summer? Probably not. So its only really Liverpool who might be interested, but they dont play with wingers. I'm sure he'd rather get regular first team football than to join one of the top 4, and spend time on the bench anyway. He's still very young, and i'm sure he's very happy to be at a big club who can help him develop.

I think thats all our top players tied down on long contracts now though. The only question mark is over Tom Huddlestone now.

I said in the £15mill on the bench thread that i thought he would get a new deal in the summer but thank god it's come early! Would be surprised if Bentley is at the club next season, i hope he is but i doubt his ego will settle for a place on the bench

Great news, most important signing of the summer and we've made it before the end of the season. Of all the players we could have lost this summer, i.e everybody we didn't sign in January, he was the most important to keep. Now let's make sure that Modric doesn't leave and we can build on a good basis for an attacking attractive stylish midfield.

Really responded well to the signing of his 'replacement' Bentley.
