Aaron Lennon?

If the reports that he pulled out with 5 minutes until kick off are true with a sore throat then questions need to be asked.

I also remembering him walking off the pitch last season at Stoke when he was 'injured' and we had made all three substitutions. Yes Crouch was silly tonight but Lennon's attitude at times is very questionable.

Can't believe people are jumping on his back so quickly when they don't even fully know what happened or how bad a state he was in....

Big girls blouse, bottled it tonight and screwed up our formation.

Happy to apologise if it turns out he has malaria or something but looked a straightforward loss of bottle to me

Exactly. It's not like he was on the pitch and directly contributed to the goals we conceded. I think it took more courage to say he wasn't fit at that late notice than to go on the pitch and put in a performance at 10%.

I still don't understand why Harry would rather play 2 or 3 players out of position than just make 1 change. Lennon pulled out so he moves Modric to the left, and Bale to the right. Just play Jenas on the right FFS. I doubt that could have done much for our confidence early doors

Come on aj, if he was in that bad a state he would of been out well before the game!

Not true. Just last week I had a vomiting bug (damn kids & their playground diseases), it just came on in the early evening, felt fine one minute, nauseous & weak the next. The vomiting followed a couple of hours later.

But the fact of the matter is that we don't know, it's not impossible for him too have fallen too ill in the space of time that he did.

Jump on his back for all I care if you know what happened but if not I find it harsh to criticise so much.

Like Gedi said, I'm glad he said something instead of starting and using up a sub within minutes.

Exactly what I though... Why move Modric AND Bale to fit JJ into CM??

I'm sorry Harry, but you got that one well wrong, JJ has played and can play well at Right Midfield - if using JJ - it was a straight swap.

Neither Modric or Bale looked happy or comfortable because of this.

Lennon, I think, bottled it. Harry ballsed up an easy switch (and gameplan to boot).. Crouch.... Well, i've never seen such stupidity from him, its not like he's Rooney!!

Proud of the guys who tried, but i was obvious that alot of them were not as happy coming out the tunnel as thy looked in the warm up.

I posted on here this afternoon that I thought Harry might start Lennon and Bale on their 'wrong' sides to surprise the opposition and try to draw a few early fouls and may-be a booking. It could be that he stuck to this with Bale but decided to swap Modric and Jenas due to the late intro of Jenas and his favoured central position.
