Yeah I’m sure a group of billionaires used to getting their own way all the time will work really well together! Especially with zero football experience.

Noise from Masters at the PL today saying they can push a deal through quickly to ratify a club. Of course they fucking can, money talks, not morals or integrity.
The question for me, I guess, is this a leveller? Or is it worse than that for Chelsea?

If they are absent owners and just prop up a Director to manage things but are not interested in investing then they will face the same issues as us and other non-oil money clubs.

They will have the same ups and downs.

In fact, it may be worse because Chelsea's strategy has always been based on large investment, whether it's player purchases or using the loan system to their advantage. They'll have to change their operations.

Look at the twitter thread I posted last page, no matter who the owners are coming in, if they aren't bankrolling transfers on their own, Chelsea backsliding is inevitable.

So basically he’s covered their entire net spend for last 6 seasons and they still needed another £30m. And that’s while winning PL and CL.

In 5 years time... so it tuns out Chelseas fantastic academy was all just down to money after all and not because they just do it so much better than everyone else. Who knew?

Actually, apply that to the first team as well.

Love the fact their fans, who always act like they havent bought success, are now shitting bricks lol.

Another thought, if these billionaires are quickly pushing this through, how much planning has gone into this?

I mean, when a club has a take over, it can be because the buyers have a big vision. Newcastle and City's buyouts, whilst sportswashing operations, do have a lot of thought and objectives go them. Everything has been meticulously planned to ensure that they can reach global domination, money helps too.

FSG clearly bought Liverpool with a plan and operate in a way that is designed towards success on the pitch without over exerting spend.

If these guys have bought this club as an opportunity, surely that means for them it's just an opportunity to line their pockets?

How much will he actually be donating when all is done and dusted? He says the proceeds of the sale of Chelsea but that may be minuscule once its been through the machinations of accounting. Abramovich won't be donating £3-4bn, that's for sure, to Ukraine humanitarian charities - I doubt it will be even a tenth of that so as to still look good to the West and not upset Putin too much.
Lol ’off topic’ ?

If Usmanov has now been done by the UK, Abramovich may not be far behind.

Almost..almost feel sorry for Everton. They’ve lost what little funding they had left, get tarred with the shitty brush, and have fuck all to show for it. Possible that this might even cause them to go under. Meanwhile, Chelsea get two decades of glittering success, and Roman waltzes off into the sunset Scott free.

Just like watching a PL match, ref and VAR see the Everton red card offense but conveniently miss the Chelsea one…

I guess if you wanted to garner political influence and protection Chelsea is probably the best team you could have bought, all those tories potentially fawning over you.

And we end up getting Dele back because they can't pay for him :D

So obviously if Abramovich is sanctioned his assets are frozen so he can’t sell the club. But can the club actually operate ? Surely if an asset is frozen it can’t operate. Could you even imagine if they were unable to complete the season and were left stuck on current points total.

Gonna be a seamless transition with Newcastle and Chelsea swapping places over the coming seasons
The geordies will be pretty unbearable. Not sure if I'll hate Newcastle the same as I do Chelsea though.
Hopefully we can at least become the top team in London again. Hopefully Chelsea struggle to get their new bigger stadium too (although I suppose West Ham will become the largest capacity in London soon). Also wonder if Everton will struggle with their stadium now.
