Jackson has been shocking though. If they had a real finisher up top they'd have picked up a couple of wins. The number of players they have injured right now is crazy too.

I still think that with time Poch will get it right there, but he likely won't get it.

Had to double check that and their last win against top half oppo was Villa inOct ‘22.
Definitely worth having a look on the beeb at their results over the last 12 months though as it’s staggering!
But surely Villa weren't top half in October '22? The stat is a team that was in the top half when Chelsea played them, in which case it would probably be correct.

But they've spent a billion quid!?!
They should be able to cope with an injury crisis and still field players that people have actually heard of.

And that's why it's the beautiful game!

Villa were 12th when they palyed (Gerrard was still manager), so not a top half team at the time. They did beat West Ham in April 2022.

In the last 2 seasons. they have only won 4 games vs teams that were in the Top half at the time of playing them........and 2 of those were us!! The other 2 were West Ham and Brentford. Crazy thing is, they finished 3rd in one of those season's.

What the fuck is the end goal here? There's going to be billions and billions of various people's money tied up in that club. I cannot imagine what they think their exit strategy looks like, and how likely it is, because I can't fathom who would want to buy them out for what they think it will be worth at any point. They'll need to make them the biggest and most famous club in the entire world somehow, and they've never been further from that in the past 20 years than at this exact moment...despite the billions of investment already made.

It's nuts, it really is. Something shady for sure is going on, because it doesn't make any kind of financial sense to anyone, so there must be some other fuckery.

I don’t get how it helps them cut player salaries.

It’s all well and good saying a $500m investment to help build a new stadium but it won’t be on the current site so they’d have to move as they can’t develop there.
Won’t be an option though unless the supporters trust give up the pitch but then where could they move to? There aren’t exactly many options in that neck of the woods.
$500m isn’t even going to touch the sides if they think they can use some of that for player wages as well, I’d love to say ffp will kick in but they’d probably get a CL ban suspended until they qualify again.
TB has actually broken their ankles with what he’s done and it’s fantastic to see!

How do they manage to keep having money pumped in and fattening the club as though interest or dividends are not needed to return or pay back?
