we don’t actually know what city pay for players, what if some of its off the books?

they are very well run, but it’s easy to be when you brought you way to success let’s be honest there Academy would’ve been extremely well funded, they split the costs over than multi club system for other things. They also have multi clubs to try and test things. The whole system is corrupt and yes, they’ve greater finding talent, but you don’t know how many bribes how many Scouts have paid off the books. No one has any idea really what they truly spending
I 100% know for a fact parents of kids that live out of the area are put on scouting courses so they can be paid as scouts to then ferry the kids to Manchester 3 times a week

Who can actually go there and do a better job than Poch is the question? They need a manager who can coach their young players to a higher level. Idk if anyone out there is better than Poch at that, even if he does choke in big games
Problem for them is I don't believe the board have the patience to allow the young players to learn and blossom.

Amorim's name getting more and more traction, and from the little I've seen that'd actually be a concerningly good appointment. Given Chelsea's position though he'd probably see United/Liverpool/Juve/Milan as better options.

How far outside of Manchester as my understanding is that you can’t make kids/parents/scouts travel more than an hour for training.

edit: I should say kids and their parents/scouts. Obviously you can travel as far as you want if you’re an adult by yourself.

On a day with no traffic, you'd do it in an hour, over the pennines. Since turning 11 their son goes to private/boarding school over in Manchester, think he's under 14's now, but their youngest has just started training 3 times a week across there so the same financial arrangements are in place to cover travel there. I believe its just to cover travel expenses

Interesting. Yeah, there’s other stuff clubs can do to get around it anyway. My bro in law is close friends with an ex premier league player and when he was a kid he actually lived with a foster family in Birmingham during the week and went home to his real parents on weekends which I find bonkers but I guess if you’re kid is looking like he’s going to make it, which this kid did, then a lot of parents will make that sacrifice.

Interesting chat on Talksport at the moment. Simon Jordan and finance expert who used to work for City
Sounds like Chelsea are knackered unless they can get in around 100m of profit by end of June.
Obviously we have been linked with Gallagher but he just looks like a runner to me. Never worth @nything like 50m. Colwill is probably the best one to buy. Probably end up at Liverpool.

a lot of the people on football seem to think it’s more like 200 million, not to mention they will have the same problem again 1St of July

I could be wrong, but is it something like £200 million in the red and they have to reduce that by a minimum of £100 million to avoid ffp penalty??

I'll repeat a point I've made earlier in that it's in every other PL club's interest to NOT buy players off Chelsea before the deadline. There's no good reason to help them out.

I'll go as far as saying anyone who does help them out is making a massive mistake, no matter which players we're talking about.

None of their players are worth buying to help them out. Better value elsewhere

I think it's £100m of profit they need, hence why the sale of Gallagher is so helpful to them, as he's home grown it's all profit.

I think the ex-city guy could be @slbsn on twitter. He's quite an interesting follow. Seems to know his stuff about financials.
