To be fair to me.....*cough*..... this thread started off in Spurs Chat which was ridiculous. I've left it here though to hopefully die a slow death.

Maybe we can bump it when Capello gets appointed.

It's rightful place is definitely general football, agreed.

This one has always been in General Football till now..... :cautious:
There was another thread in Spurs Chat where this should have been started due to the topic being about... well us :D

Can we get this thread moved to General Football ... on a ArseScum website.

This forum is for Spurs fans

I wasn't referring to you as delusional TM, I was just identifying the people who really do embarrass me when it comes to our support.

'Let's all laugh at Tottenham' was clearly meant as a tongue in cheek, knowing nod to the hypocrisies of laughing at Liverpool etc when their clubs are in a bit of a state. It's perfectly fine. It's not the 'what's wrong with tottenham' thread because it wasn't the intention of the thread starter to begin a post-mortem of our current state. That would be a different thing entirely.

There's no need to be incredibly pious and precious about Spurs 100% of the time. It's not a religion.
Amen to that brother.
And remember Mods are only human.
They are not always right.

It's actually not that bad a thread to be honest.

I'd guess that most fans wqould look upon this as what it is, a light hearted thread, laughing at ourselves..

Yesterday was one of the most humiliating results I've seen. What else can you do, but put your hands up, say well done.. accepting the mocking.

Exactly. Spurs are tragic more often than not. What else can you do but laugh?

I'm with you. It is TOTALLY embarassing. Scum fans would be on the floor if they knew about this thread. And yet, strangely, my post on page 1 which said this, got 2 WTF's and 2 Doh's, evidently, each from 2 idiots!

Firstly. I think you need to lighten up a bit.

Secondly, I may be an idiot but, simply having a different opinion to you does not make me one. The ratings you received are neutral and not negative and sending me a pm asking me to justify it will get you nowhere.

Thirdly, fans of other clubs have enough ammunition already to laugh at us. Threads like this just show that we're good natured and mature enough to laugh at ourselves.

Isn't it a very British thing to be able to laugh at oneself?

Honestly I'm well and truly fed up of the overly-dramatic, life-or-death, wailing women style of modern supporters. Why does everything have to be so serious all the time? Isn't football the original and ultimate game for supporters to take the piss out of themselves?

I remember when I was at the West Ham game last season, when we won 3-1 and Andy Carroll scored their only goal.

We sung a song about how shit Carroll was, and the West Ham fans countered with an irritatingly brilliant retort song of:

He scored against you
He scored against yoooooou
How shit must you be
He scored against you

Some of us actually gave them a little clap for that because it was properly funny - admitting how shit they were and still using it to score points against us in the banter war.

The last few years of my life have involved some people very close to me being very seriously ill, and stuff like that puts losing to Liverpool into context. Spurs were here before me, and will be here long after I'm gone. We will win titles in the future, and we'll get relegated one day too - nothing I can do to prevent any of it. We're all just along for the ride here.

If you can't have a laugh about football when things go wrong then you take life too seriously IMO.

(awaits the accusations of not being a 'proper' fan because I'm not balling my eyes out at the current Spurs situation)
