Could someone outline what the loan rules are and ideally in the context of any loans we currently have active (in/out)?

I suspect a sticky thread on the topic is going to be useful as the end of the window looms so we don't keep repeating the discussion of whether we're allowed to loan another player in/out.

Loans between Premier League clubs and other English counterparts are officially called temporary transfers.

Under the rules in the Premier League Handbook 2020/21, there are restrictions on how many players Premier League clubs can loan from other Premier League/English clubs.

They are:
- Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time.
- The maximum number of loans registrable in the same season is four, and, under no circumstances, shall more than one be from the same club at any one time.
- Premier League clubs cannot loan to another Premier League club a player they have acquired in the same transfer window.
- A Premier League club may loan not more than one of its goalkeepers to another Premier League club.

There are no rules on how many loans you can have from a abroad.

Current loans in from abroad
Pierluigi Gollini - From Atalanta
Cristian Romero - from Atalanta

I will update for other loans, but I don't think there are any rules really.
Is this not only between clubs from the premiership/championship/clubs in England and Wales?

Can we field say loan 4 players in our team if they're loaned from say Barca, Juve, etc? Is there a limit? Does your 1st point apply there as well or is that point Prem only? We've had more than 3 players registered on loan before haven't we? I'm sure this came up last season.

Is there a limit at all on how many we can loan out? (I assume not, given Chelsea, and the rules are all on the receiving end)

Yes. Fulham last season had a lot of loaned players in their squad

As far as I can see it's only between clubs in the English league. Seen a quite from a game where they said they couldn't get any more players from england ad had 2 but could get 10 (think it was just a random number) from abroad.

The contest at Craven Cottage saw the hosts seal a 1-0 win, courtesy of Ademola Lookman. Amazingly, the winger was one of SEVEN loan players that Fulham used that night.

Boss Scott Parker started six and brought another, Mario Lemina, off the bench as one of his three subs. That means exactly half of their side consisted of loanees.

Fulham have two players on loan from fellow English clubs - Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea) and Lemina (Southampton) - with five others borrowed from European clubs.

There should be a limit on how many players a club can loan out.

Think it's this simple ?

Can't loan more than 2 PL based players at one time.

Loan the rest of the world?

Considering that Levy used to be allergic to loan deals, our current MO is excellent news.
