Everton give Tottenham their demands for Lucas Digne transfer
Tottenham are keen on Everton full-back Lucas Digne - but the Toffees want Danny Rose as part of the deal
Everton want Danny Rose and cash in any possible deal for Lucas Digne.
Tottenham are keen on Digne and boss Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to use some of their windfall from reaching the Champions League Final on Everton ’s French star.
Pochettino wanted Digne last summer when Barcelona offloaded him, but was hamstrung by his lack of transfer funds.
Everton are loathe to lose Digne after an impressive first season at Goodison Park when he scored four goals and made four assists to win their Player of the Year award.
The Blues paid Barcelona £18million for him last summer and feel his value has doubled.
They are also in a strong bargaining position because he has four years left on his Blues contract.
Digne, 25, who has replaced Leighton Baines as Everton’s No 1 left-back, is also wanted by at least two big foreign clubs.
He is back in the French squad after suffering the heartbreak of missing out on their World Cup triumph last summer and is hugely experienced, having played for some of Europe’s biggest clubs like Barca, Roma and Paris St Germain.
Everton would want England international Rose in part exchange and some cash on top to tempt them into parting with Digne.
Everton’s steep demands may be enough to ward off Spurs and also Rose is back in favour under Pochettino after a fine campaign.
