City will be after it and not let up. Wanyama wont cope well for the first half, let alone 90’. Winks and Dier are huge misses. Sissoko’s going to have to play 3 positions(both CM’s and RB) instead of his normal 2(CM and RB). Sadly, I think we’re in for a pumping.
Keep calm enjoy the game i will,it will be good to see how far we have progressed under Poch against one of the favorites
to win the trophy.
Should we score City will need 3 to beat us,you never know Hugo might play a blinder.

At risk (risk?) Of stating the obvious, the reason we can be more confident than we otherwise would be is going there with the lead and the away goal rule.

Imagine this was a league or FA Cup match. I think most of us would say we've lost already. Many of us would question whether we'd win with a 1 goal headstart.

But with the away goal rule meaning any lapse of concentration from them would mean needing to score three, it's almost like them playing with one hand (as the expression goes) tied behind their back. But then they need to actually score in the 90 or go out

Indeed, that sports science outfit that the BBC often quotes has us at 52% chance to go through (but, obvs, 48 for Citeh)

So if we can defend as against Dortmund (both legs) and Citeh at home then we have an excellent chance of progression
All that goes out the window if they were to score two early goals with out us replying, which is quite plausible.

It’s a 5am kick-off for those of us down under, so I’m in for a long nervous night in front of the telly.

Wouldn’t say I’m confident, but have every reason to believe the boys will give it a good shake, and that’s all you can ask.

COYS !!

I’m one of those.... but with a 7am start for work ?

So the second half could be watched sat in my car on the side of the road somewhere between home and work ?

Of course. That's like saying Citeh are favourites to beat Palace but all of that goes out of the window if Palace score more goals (which is plausible and in fact happened).

This is why Citeh are 48% to progress and not 20% and hence the final sentence - If we defend as per the other 3 games....

My god haven't been this nervous before a game in years.

I think it's the draw against Ajax, who while very very good is a winnable match and would be a very fun watch. As well as the fact that I live in Madrid and the final would literally be a few metro stops from my pad.

We will do well to get through today, think I'm going to try and eat something and head to the pub super early for a few pre-match beers to calm my nerves.

If we lose, I just pray that's it's fair and not because of some piss decision from the Turkish gnome. I'll travel to Schweiz and take down the entire organization if we go out on a **** decision.

I think it's very important that we keep our cool throughout the game. If we go a goal down we need to remain calm and know that we are still in a good position. The same applies if we go two goals down. We don't need to panic in these moment. This is something we haven't managed well in Europe in the past. Where we often seem to panic when we loose our lead.

Keep it tight and try to hit them on the break. Have to take any chances we get though, because we won’t get many and they’ll score a couple.

Suggest a take away and to all gather in front of the TV 'like when we used to as a proper family'. :sneaky:
