Hojbjerg has been good. Has been key to us working the ball out of the back and retaining possession.

I’d take Johnson off. He’s doing nothing.

He just seems to encourage safe possession when he plays. Stands on the ball to long, to many wall passes. Watching the first goal again, he’s caught in no man’s land , doesn’t get close to Fernandes to effect the pass over the top.

the lack of athleticism in midfield is a big reason we look so open on the break. Probably been better than Skipp granted.

Johnson has to do better but he gives us the threat in behind. At least we’re getting in around the back on that side and there’s no one else on the bench that’s going to off et any threat.

Feel we've played decent enough in periods but we are lacking that bit of guile in the last third. Defensively, we are leaving the door open for them them and its reminding me a bit of the home game against them....that day they missed a couple of guilt edge chances whereas today they've put two away. Frustrating as don't think we've caused them enough problems in the final third as we should maybe have done so but still in the game but next goal is obviously crucial.

I'd give Donley a go. Take your pick as to which of Skipp and PEH come off.

To be fair, I wouldn't be against him for one of them but I think the plan was to try to win the midfield and although it hasn't really worked, those two give us the better chance of doing so.
I'm not sure how we'd do with a two man midfield.

He’s actually been okay the problem is that we just can’t create and control the midfield with both him and PEH on the pitch. You can play one or the other just not both.

Admittedly injuries taking their toll but the balance of the frontline just isn't helping.

One speedster in Werner is fine but two with Johnson makes us predictable.

Watching Timo shoot, you have to wonder how much of it is skill and how much of it is mental. While it is probably a combination of both, it's like he is shooting not to miss.

Yea true I was thinking the same mate. Werner has scored some absolute peaches over the years so he’s clearly capable of shooting well and he hits it with great power unlike Johnson whose shots are a bit powder puff.

As you say probably partly technical partly mental.

I fancy him to score 2nd half …
