Will there be a press conference or is this it till the next match?

I was wondering when we would hear from him. Surely we won't wait until 1st July to do that? I know that is his official start date but we need to hear from him before then, especially if we want to start buying some players this month.

awesome tidbit from the article:

Broich takes up the story:

“He sat down with me for an hour and drove straight back to the Netherlands. We had a great talk and he convinced me to come to Brisbane.

“It was a good talk but a lot of people in football talk the talk — I didn’t know he would be the guy who could pull it off. Only when I started working did I realise what a special character he was and how knowledgeable he was. By far the best footballing brain I’ve ever met in the business. It’s insane, his understanding of the game. When you play football his way it’s really tough at the beginning but it becomes so easy — you’re always one step ahead of your opposition.

“He knows exactly where you should be for every pass. It wasn’t robotic — decisions were always up to us — but the structures, patterns and movements he created were always very clear and made a lot of sense to us. Every passing drill he developed was transferable to the game. He had a lot of restrictions in training that helped us in the game. Balls above waist height weren’t allowed and that was very tough at first, but you persist and it gets easier and you start to do it on the pitch.

“He helped me with finding those little pockets, getting into those areas in between, where the opposition marks you. He was so determined to work on my turn when I received the ball. He wasn’t about having a safe first touch, sometimes even a touch towards our own goal, he wasn’t having any of that. He was forcing me to constantly scan for the next pass and to turn with my first touch, even though this might feel uncomfortable because we are taught differently when we are younger. He helped me find space and then he taught me how to make the most use of that space. How to quickly get into a penetrating position.

The more lines i read from him the more i fall in love with the bloke. It just feels so good to feel excitement again, and a sense of belonging in the club. Exciting times ahead!

cannot wait for Ange's new manager pre-season ITK on training and tactics; it's definitely the best like hot foreplay before the real action gets going

Having watched a few vids and seen how he conducts himself I think we can safely bet he isn’t going to take any shit on the sidelines from Klopp and Arteta

Gives me Martin Jol / Redknapp vibes, most enjoyable time supporting Spurs for me! Hopefully no dodgy lasagnes, tax bills and Ryan Nelsons.

When Slot fell through, I swore off Spurs Chat. Then I saw the news in the sports pages, checked back in, found the Next Manager thread locked, and this new one is like...

Thanks for the post, I've just had a nice 30 mins looking up Lesley Gore and listening to some of her hits. Shows my age but a nice diversion.

Really happy we've got big Ange over the line.

We're in for a painful rebuild regardless with a big clean out still required, but at least we'll be playing some attractive football while he starts to re-shape the group and give it a refreshing identify.

I'm especially looking forward to finally getting to see some of the younger players getting a chance to stake their claim. Alfie Devine is still very green but I think he would eventually suit Ange's system like a glove once he develops. I think we'll see a fair bit out of Royal and Gil, and can see Scarlett finally being integrated and used meaningfully also.

Lloris has been a fantastic servant, but I think it actually works out well with him moving on at the same time so that Ange can setup his own leadership group from the get go too.

Exciting times.. finally.

Just seen Sonny liked the IG post of the announcement on Ange. Beeing an asian footballer who faced him with the NT and knowing how people can be prejudicial with folks from that continent you just feel Sonny will be one of the first to buy into Big Ange’s ideas

Positives!

•Media seem to be on his side
•Wants to play positive football
•Expectations won’t be as high as if we had hired Poch, Nagelsmann.
•Might be able to open the door to signing players from asia

nagatives:-

•Could be a suicidal Bielsa-esque experience
•Might be hounded out before he gets a chance.
