The man is a hugely impressive orator and presence. The steel behind the twinkle in the eye is pretty mesmerising. You can see why the people he has worked with and in charge of have been so impressed with him and speak so highly of him.
I don't know if he is going to be successful with us but I really really hope he is.

I think what comes across most is that he seems supremely comfortable in his own skin. Already happy to joke with the reporters, answer off the cuff and just be himself - just very genuine.

I really think the players will warm to that, as they will know where they stand pretty early on. The knock on effect being that those who aren't part of his plans will know it and so hopefully push for a move elsewhere.

That’s all true but I’m still not fully in until I hear him say ****

Good solid interview, honest and true to himself, balancing expectations vs wanting to excite the fans, is realistic to know he will need to be flexible as different player situations change, overall the is confident in his ways of working.

So refreshing ☑️

💯 mate, people respond to genuine people and ones who are honest and straightforward yet still caring firm and fair, Ange is all of those.

Will be refreshing for us as fans but also refreshing for the players after Jose’s weirdness, Nuno’s dullness and Conte’s crazy OTT emotional reactions.

Loving the club again.

Think we might need to be patient on squad movements just by the nature that Ange won’t get certain players back for a few weeks and he’ll need time to as he says see who buys into what he wants and who isn’t up for it, from there hopefully we will then act as decisively as we can in terms of quick and appropriate effective transfers in and out.

At last we've got a Manager on the way up, not on the way down or having just fallen off a cliff. Straight talk, no bullshit, no riddles and not preening over himself. Good luck Ange. Proud of him already.

Some of you must be doing a complete 180 on your views if I compare the overwhelming positivity here to a lot of the misinformed negative nonsense I read in the 'next manager' thread a few weeks ago

"It's not just about winning but it's the manner in which you play your football. I'm explicit in saying my teams must play a certain way."

That should please a lot of people.
Even if he flops (and I doubt it) that's the type of a manager we should always go for.

Whether by luck or by judgement, the board have gotten this managerial appointment absolutely 100% correct.

I definitely like him a lot since these first few bits and pieces have come out (which I do with any manager really even ones I’m not keen on like Mourinho and Conte)

I still have concerns but much more positive now he’s Jedi mind tricked me.

No bullshit with him, seems completely at ease and prepared for what needs to happen. It's very refreshing to see and hopefully he will follow through on what he is saying. The club needs a huge shake up on the football side and he certainly backs himself to be the guy to do it. Really hope he can achieve what he believes he can.

He alluded to it slightly but it’s worth reiterating that it’s so important that we get (and stay) behind him even if early results aren’t good, like they weren’t at Celtic.

With Nuno, I think everyone knew the football was dreary as fuck and would stay that way. Also we were getting battered every game even when we were winning initially, so it was the right decision to take early on. With Postecoglou, we all know he will try and play exciting football so he might need more time to turn these players around - players who have been inviting pressure on to them every game for the last 4 years even when we play teams in divisions below us!

Even if we’re 10th by Xmas, as long as I can see what we’re trying to do, then I’d be more than happy to give him time. He may even need a couple of seasons, it seems to have worked for them down the road.

We’ve had a handful of amazing games over the last 4 years but 80% of them have been so hard to watch. Can’t wait to enjoy watching us play again.

I agree wholeheartedly with this but I do worry about our supporters to be blunt and their ability to view things that way.

That press conference sounded to me like it was directed at us in the main. I think he was directing a lot of the comments to us rather than just responding to the questions.

Both Mourinho and Conte were full of praise for the players and the way they applied themselves. If they could get behind the pair of them and their dreary football, I'm damn certain they'll be busting a gut for Ange and desperate to play for him. Hopefully, anyone who doesn't buy in 100% will be out the door pretty quick.
