I never quite understand why people keep following the club if they have no optimism whatsoever of anything good happening. Is it some kind of kink? People were saying "well Levy will never change but at least if we can appoint someone who wants attractive football then that's a start". We have done that and some people are being miserable already.

We have a manager who builds fluid attacking teams to be much greater than the sum of their parts, and that is what most of us fans want to see.

Our recent sustained and exciting spells, have come under B/C listers like Jol, Harry and Poch, I for one, pay no attention to whoever feels subdued by Ange's appointment, he has just walked through the door, and had an impact in Maddison signing, and looking for us to play fluid on the front foot footie. Us fans have to give him time to separate the wheat from the chaff, and his ideas to be implemented.

He might have some hope or expectation on a couple of our bloated squad but If he doesn’t know which of the squad are chaff then I am concerned. You don’t need to take them on tour. Just take some of youth instead. Our squad is crying out for quality defenders not trying to make silk purses from the dross. It is even more galling when you see our nearest neighbours strengthening so well.

It's so early - we are at the very early stages of a project that is going to take a long time to come to fruition. It's not like we've done no business - defence is critical obviously but it's not like the club have announced that there will be no more signings this window.

Peoplease are losing their shit over nothing.

It could be that ange wants to give everyone in the 31 a chance before bringing new players in.

Perhaps he wants to take a view on squad dynamics. Some players may not be the best, but may be better for morale/camaraderie.

I think he is taking some of them who want out to show them this is how we will be playing and training. It will either solidify their views on wanting out and push them to through the door quicker or they will embrace it and try and improve themselves. He said building his quad will take time. Just read it - refreshing approach and I love his self belief - it never crosses over into arrogance.
