I think it’s wrong to say Kane didn’t want to give Ange a chance. He was more than happy to give him a chance. He just wasn’t willing to extend his contract here. We weren’t willing to take the chance that he wouldn’t leave on a free next summer. What has happened is the most sensible compromise from both sides, given the circumstances.
Have you watched/read the press conference ? Kane spoke to Ange the day Ange arrived and from that moment on Ange felt he was going and they've planned accordingly. That doesn't translate as Kane wanting to give Ange a chance - had no fee been agreed Ange said Kane would have been happy to stay, but thats not the same thing imo.

Yeah, I'm all in on Ange.

I'm getting a tattoo of his face on my

Yep, you've picked out a very important quote, and he also mentioned about the long term planning this window on another occasion as well.

So forget all this shit about only opportunistic signings now coming in, it's there in black and white (or colour if you watch the video!) the manager and board have been aware of Kane leaving from the day Ange arrived and they've been planning their targets and doing their business accordingly.

Absolute class act Ange, breath of fresh air.
With everything going on and the whole situation I do not think we could have filled the Kane shaped hole without Ange. He more than makes up for Kane going. Give me Wish and another CB and I'm well happy.

Kudos to Daniel as well. Looks like the situation was well dealt with. With both Kane and the manager.

Love Ange. Handled it perfectly.

Also, I am less concerned with replacing Kane’s goals - I don’t think we will be 30 goals worse off next season - and more concerned with conceding far less goals than we did.

I trust Ange to sort this shit out eventually!

Not sure I’m buying all this talk of Kane never being considered as captain etc. He’s worn the armband in every game he’s played in this preseason.

Surely when Hugo doesn't play Kane is captain by virtue of him being vice captain ? Until a new captain is picked then it would be wrong and weird for the vice captain not to wear the armband when the captain wasn't on the field (imo !).

I guess. Another reason this should have been sorted before the tour.

Who said Kane was never considered as captain? If the deal hadn't been done he'd have been out captain this season.

Kane has seen so many false dawns here I don’t think he owes it to us to give yet another manager a chance beyond ‘if you don’t agree a fee I’ll give my all for as long as I’m contracted to’. Ange seems great, and I hope it works out with him. But Kane isn’t going to be making his decisions based on hope at this stage of his career.

Bumped in to a player the other day

He said it was toxic under conte, and the players are loving Woking under ange.

Which fits all the ITK.

Conte was a great manager but massive tW£%

Glad i popped into this thread, liking the positive vibes - i've genuinely been excited for the start of the season, and that hasn't diminished in any way because of Harry going, if anything my passion for supporting Spurs is even greater as i think we all need to rally round and push this club forward. Far far too much negativity for my liking (some justified, but a lot of it over the top and repetitive imo) .

I honestly think this boss will unite most of the fanbase again and i can't wait. COYS.
