After Ange’s first few games I thought he was going to be good and bring some excitement but now I’m starting to think he’s not just good, he’s a fucking visionary! Long way to go and all that but the only questions around him were based on him only managing in less established leagues. It’s really starting to look like his methods will work at the top level and it’s going to be very interesting to see what happens next year when we add a bit more depth to this squad.

Our problem has always been that we’re competing against teams with much bigger bank rolls but sometimes a manager comes along who can level the playing field with genuine ability and by recruiting the right players instead of trying to sign the biggest names available.

I don’t want to get ahead of myself but I think he might be very, very special! It’s extremely important that we don’t jib out when we eventually lose or hit a rocky patch. This is the one we need to stick with and weather any storms together as a unified club and fan base. The biggest test for us will be keeping the stadium rocking when things aren’t going our way.

If I can equate Premier League managers to chess players, in chess you have a bunch of top players who are about the same level. They’ll all take points off of each other but there’s usually one or two who just see further than all the rest. If Pep is Magnus Carlsen then maybe Ange is the 15 year old Indian kid who turns up and starts laying the smack down on all the established names. Let’s see if he can keep this up and take us a step further than Poch was able to do!

edit- shit I didn’t mean to write such a wall of text but it’s done now so deal with it 😀

Ange doesn't need to take the ferry over to Calais. He just walks across instead.

It’s still a fairly long way, maybe he could cycle? Actually here’s a theological one, if Jesus had access to a bicycle, would he have been able to ride it on water? What about a car?

How's he getting the booze back though?
Fair point. He can turn water into wine though remember.

This is like when Sam carried Frodo and the ring up Mount Doom innit.

I keep watching this and just can’t believe the difference in the feel at the club, absolute 180 from Jose/Conte recent times.

So happy that we can just enjoy our club again and you just know the Gooners and other fans will be hating it / very jealous 😌👌

This is good:

It’s very flexible isn’t it, and gives decision making over to the players. It’s fun. I guess that’s why it’s ‘playing’. You can’t really ‘play’ properly if you don’t have fun. We are ‘playing’ football again after a long long time where we entirely missed the point.

Great post & totally agree.

An Aussie who’s followed Ange’s career, said to me recently, ‘What you don’t understand is he hasn’t even got started yet.’
