And tbf, son scores that chance to go 2-2, everyone would be praising the high line
Or Benta puts the chance away, or Dier isn't a pube hair offside. I think we'd have rattled Chelsea had we scored an equaliser. Poch was freaked on the touchline.

That’s true maybe keep Johnson on
Deki works so hard for the team. Doesn't stop all 90 minutes (or 110 today). I think Deki over Johnson made more sense. Otherwise we'd have had to take off a CM.

Couple of big issues with Ange tonight .
First I would have kept Johnson , it would have given them something to worry about and we could have played the longer ball over the top .
2nd - I can’t for the life of me understand why he kept Udogie on after he made that tackle in the 2nd half , he didn’t look fit anyway and was struggling , just such a bizzare decision to take the risk when Emerson can play that role . This was a bad night at the office , Romero needs to take a good look at himself cos he’s let us down once again. Next few weeks could be pretty painful

It's crazy to play like this tonight with 9 men after our approach the last few years. Behind at home to Milan and going to defend so not to lose by more for example. Liverpool go down to 9 and defend for their lives to earn a draw. We have 9 at 1-1 and press up to the halfway line. Once that's drilled into the players with 9 men then playing with 11 men should be a breeze. Maybe we needed this chaos tonight just to show who we are going to be going forward. We've heard Ange talk about never moving from this brand of football but it's one thing to say it and another for the players to buy into it. They have shown tonight they are fully behind Ange , if he tells them to press forward they will.

A European spot would have been a great season this year, and he's got us playing well above that. We're going to get fucked by being thin at the back now, but I fully believe we've got it in us to get CL in the end if we can get some cover in Jan and get over the injuries.

Proud of him and the boys on the pitch for putting up what we did tonight, and can only think that it's so promising going forward, and we've done so incredibly well to have got so many points in early doors to cover for some of the damage tonight has done.

A class act. This is our guy, and it's brilliant to come away from such a match being able to believe such.

That was never going to happen because we already lost VdV and Romero. Emerson was covering at centre back already and Dier was the only recognized centre back in the 2nd half.

Not subbing Udogie was a very odd move, I know we were running low on defenders but playing with 10 and Skipp as a LB for example is better then playing with 9. Like you say the fact he already had fitness issues and we were down to 10 means there would be more strain on him also.

Just showed me how far ahead we are of Chelsea. We would have battered them with eleven and won with ten

I think he wants players to work things out for themselves and hopefully Udogie learnt a lot tonight.

Shockingly poor action by Romero. WTF was he thinking? Really don’t know if he is capable of not letting us down in the games. I can forgive Udogie as he is relatively green to the cauldron of London derbies but it makes me sick to my stomach we got turned over by the blue scum again. All because of our inability to manage emotions. Postecoglu needs to instil more discipline. Too many red and yellow cards. It is simply not good enough. This is a defeat that is so unpalatable, it just pisses me off.

Lets not forget that Udogie had 1st half yellow cards v Arsenal and Liverpool and was one of our best players in the 2nd half in both games, so it really isn't that odd (without hindsight), especially when you look at options on the bench.

That's who romero is. A maverick defender, genius 95% or times and a liability the other 5%. Without him we'd be worse of nonetheless

Worth remembering that Udogie should have been sent off for grabbing Saka around the waist at about 80'. He is a phenomenal defender but how he handles big games is a question mark in the immediate term. I have no doubt he'll settle. He's only 20.

Really pleased (but obviously not surprised) that he and the club aren't going to go down this weird Arsenal/Liverpool blame the officials for everything weirdness.

I think he kept Udogie on thinking at 10 vs 11 we'd still have enough of the ball to push Chelsea back in their own half and Udogie is great at carrying the ball forward and providing the overlap. It's unfortunate that he got the second yellow particularly as I believe it was a counter from our own attacking move in their box breaking down.

I have seen enough fight and endeavour at 9 vs 11 to see that if they can show that level of spirit and courage with the numerical disadvantage on top of losing two key players through injury then with more time to prepare in training we will get to a stage where at 11 v 11 teams won't be able to live with us. We mustn't forget either that we were the team having most of the ball up until the red card/penalty and the Son disallowed goal while the correct decision was still something to look at as what Ange's style of football is all about in the way we created the chance.

I’ve never been so entertained, enthralled and proud in a game we ended up losing 1-4. The absolute fight and determination was a joy to watch.
He’s a good egg, this one!
