Remind me of your comments about Conte -remember him - the guy who got us and kept us 4th with an aging goalkeeper, a pathetic excuse for a defensive squad and mid-week football limiting training time and increasing player fatigue. Oh yeah and the guy who got pelters for not giving Bissouma enough game time!

Conte asked for time and patience a week before his last game for us - but hey - why give a proven winner at this level time and patience - nah - let's get rid.

For the record I do not want Ange out - not because I think he has what it takes to lead us to glory - I have no idea if he has or not because he has not had other jobs at this level to prove that one way or the other - I want Ange to continue because I am fed up of chop & change. Give him time the time and patience we failed to give Conte to compile the squad he wants and mould the team in his image, and let's see where that takes us.

I wanted to ask the same thing. How have we gone from Conte doesn’t deserve time or the players he needs to implement his style, but now we have the same fans crying out for that treatment for Ange? I thought Ange was going to come in, show us that Conte is a shit manager and bring the best out of every player we had at our disposal? It was a fallacy then and it still is now.

We’ve already bought a bunch of players that have vastly improved the overall squad that Conte had when he got us 4th place (bar Kane) and I can only think of Sarr that has been utilised properly under Ange Vs Conte, but even then you have to that Conte preferred 2 in midfield vs 3 for Ange, and it’s very obvious which system suits Sarr more.

Now before anyone decides to extrapolate this into an Ange vs Conte argument don’t bother, that’s not what I’m getting at.

The point I’m trying to make is fans can be hypocritical and will attribute time and backing where they see fit, it will always be this way. We should Just let each fan make those decisions for themselves.

One thing I will say is that the squad we have today is vastly superior to the squad that Poch inherited.

I’m not sure about that. Poch inherited a squad with Lloris, Walker, Rose, Vertonghen, Dembele, Eriksen and Kane. There was a lot of work to do and Poch deserves a lot of credit for improving those players but there’s probably two or three legit world class players in that bunch.

Newcastles plan was to go 1 on 1 in our own half, then drop into a 541 formation and catch us on the counter.

We played right into their hands.

My biggest frustration was that we gave away a sloppy goal straight after the 1st. Really poor.

There aren't many tweaks to make, we don't have the kind of DM or striker the system requires
This all day long. A proper no. 9 and DM would make a world of difference to this team. So much of our play breaks down through son trying to play with his back to goal. Biss is sloppy with the ball and isn't energetic enough to own the midfield. We need that solid spine. I hope the powers that be are ruthless in the summer and get the players in that the system requires. As it stands there are too many players that don't fit

In this formation our 6 needs to be one of the world's best in that position. An athletic and defensive monster who covers ground like lightning, with incredible passing and line breaking dribbling.

No pressure

It’s been this way for years now under numerous managers. The only thing we can hope for is that our new scouting and recruitment strategy continues to reap benefits for us before time runs out for Ange.

I wouldn’t blame him though, just like I haven’t blamed any of the previous managers. The common denominator has always left us short in one way or another. Another summer window and we’ll know if Ange gets given the tools he needs to complete the team. I think all of us are hoping for that.

You say ' bar Kane', as if that isn't the one massive reason why Conte and Mourinho got as many points as they did

I think it's more due to the fact that Contes system revolved around wing backs, and we gave him Emerson and Davies/Sess, he was never afforded this "he hasn't got the right players" excuse.

With Ange if one of Porro or Udogie are injured I've seen people literally say "how could he possibly be expected to win without Porro? You know how important full backs are to his system".

Paratici has cemented himself as the most important person at the club in my opinion.

I'd rather lose any of our players, manager, even CEO, before we lost Paratici.

We also gave him Perisic and Porro, with significant fee/wages.

I'm sure we are looking at some 17 year olds with potential

Don Paratici is the best thing to happen to this club in a decade, bar peak Poch. He is the man to finally bring us glory. Anyone else is expendable.

I just hate when people start comparing him to other managers. Let’s be real, he is not going to be the next Pep, Klopp, Ferguson and Arteta has much higher ceiling than Ange. The first two had already proven record on highest level, Ferguson is one in a generation, and Arteta has 15+ years experience in the PL. Hate to say it, but I don’t see much improvement from last season and can’t see him winning even one of the domestic cups next season, which is the bare minimum as far as I’m concerned. This is my realistic opinion, but would love to be proven wrong.

The funny thing is we’ve scored more goals this season than last. Which tells you that overall, the squad is stronger than it was last season, without Kane.

In all fairness Porro signed a couple of weeks before he left.

It's funny, I kinda feel like Conte needed Udogie and Porro more than he needed Kane, and Ange probably needed Kane more than he needed Porro and Udogie.

As a species, Strikers and defensive midfielders are the most expensive players in the market. Chances of us buying a world class no 6 are therefore slim to none.
