I don't want to turn this into Poch v Jose, but Poch done that a number of times over a couple of seasons, while Jose is getting results I don't think he is really getting the best out of Son, while Poch did and if you look back there were a lot people suggesting we played better without Kane during those runs.

I knew you’d pop up as soon as I mentioned the P-word :ROFLMAO:

During those periods you refer to, we still had strikers in the squad, be it Janssen or Llorente.

Now, we do not, and no amount of false equivalence is going to change reality.

In 18/19 we played 9 and won 6 without Kane

This was not a shithouse win. We deserved it based in the number of good chances we missed.

We didn’t play great but we deserved to win on the sheer number of clear cut chances we created/ gifted to us. Would like to see the expected goals stat, must be about 7

I love Poch, but this seasons version of him would in no way have accumulated the same number of points as Jose since he took over

Pochettino had Vertonghen, Toby, Dier, Eriksen as their true selfs not the current versions Mourinho has

Okay?? Jose has Lo Celso, Gedson and Bergwijn? What's your point? Because the statement was Poch couldn't do it without Kane which is blatantly not true, even last season which was poor and papered over by the CL run, Poch still got 6 wins out 9 without Kane and without a in form dier and Eriksen

Jose v Poch isn't going away is it. Today was decent, lots of chances created and ultimately the win. But I can't remember a time recently where we've had so little control in games. Our matches have essentially become end to end lotteries.

Oh you mean, with a striker in the squad, which was my entire damn point?

Cool.

Why do you need to bring Poch up when praising Jose though? Why does praise have to come at the criticism of somebody else? Especially considering there's evidence to show that Poch managed to get results without a recognised striker on the pitch but even if there wasn't it's a pointless statement because it can't be proven one way or another.

I pointed out that neither our previous manager nor the majority of managers in this league could do what Jose has done so far in 2020 in my view.

I’m sorry you’ve got some weird fixation with Poch being exempt from having any mention on here unless it’s overwhelmingly gushing and positive, but given that he has managed the club during the very season we’re still in, it’s absolutely relevant and pertinent to compare the two.

You wouldn’t complain if anyone had said Poch did something better than Jose, and you never have.

Other way round, and it’s “oh, won’t someone spare a thought for poor Poch”. Grow up.

Its gripping isn't it?
You can keep your tippy tappy borefests, I love this shit.
I had to have a lie down after that.
Thought you loved those 65% possession based games with side to side football and 82 minute substitutions mate.

If we lost a game and somebody said that Poch wouldn't have lost that I'd react the same. I'm not the one with the weird fixation on Poch, he wasn't on my mind at all today, all I cared about was that Jose managed to get the result and did so whilst resting players for our midweek clash. Maybe if you want to look at who has the fixation with Poch I'd probably look at the person who couldn't wait to bring him up.
