Wasn't there talk of Paratici appointing a No2? He seems to have a busy summer ahead, so perhaps could use a helping hand

From what I have been told the person in question is already on gardening leave from his current club. Not sure when it will be announced.

Think trix (sorry if it wasn’t)said a couple weeks ago there was interest, can play CCB I imagine and wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t mind being backup to dier initially.
Of course the source is probably awful but didn’t know where to put it

I think Paratici has a massive balancing act this summer to keep Conte happy, progress the squad and fill a lot of holes we have in the squad.

What we have seen of our issues and concerns, over last season and longer, I believe the below are the key of these, order of priority and ways to potentially address them:-

1. Our lack of attack minded wing backs to add goals and creativity.
  • This has hopefully been half addressed with Perisic and hopefully links to RWB and Spence will address this point soon for Right hand side.
2. Lack of a ball playing left footed centre back.

  • Davies is great, has improved no end but not at a level to be a constant starter if we want to win trophies. All in on Bastoni.

3. Lack of creativity when teams sit back against us
  • Points 1 and 2 will go along way to help with this aspect.
  • A dribbler: We only have one in our squad, Moura. I would not consider Son to be one, as although he has done and can, he isn’t a player fans anticipate is going to take 1 or 2 players on whenever he gets the ball. We need someone to draw 1 or 2 players out of position through their dribbling ability to open space up, this is why links to Traore and ASM are being seen no doubt. For me, Carrasco would be my choice.
  • A Target man: Kane is good in the air, however isn’t known to be dominate and stay in opponents box. Sometimes when teams sit back, we should have an option to go route one and feed off knock downs. Scamacca, Osimhen and Calvert-Lewin would be my choices.
  • A CM passer: Someone that sits alongside Bentancur in a 2 or another to add in a 3 man midfield. Someone that can spot a pass that others cannot. A Player that can receive possession in tight spots and beat an opponents press. This is where the likes of a player like Eriksen would come in, but for me my choice would be Fabian Ruiz.

4. Lack of cover for our forwards
  • Adding a target man would alleviate lack of cover for Kane. Adding someone like Carrasco along with Perisic covers both left and right sides.

5. Lack of possession and control in centre midfield, especially teams that press
  • Adding players like Eriksen, Ruiz or even Phillips and Ward Prowse.

6. Lack of Home Grown:
  • Having Rodon, Davies, Dier, Doherty whilst fine for PL, hinder us in Europe as not homegrown. Going for a no brainer backup keeper as HG solves one spot. Going for the likes of Spence, Phillips, Ward-Prowse, and Calvert-Lewin would be the ones to go for which address this issue and other issues previously mentioned.
7. Cover for CB:
  • With the amount of injuries Dier and Romero have had the last season and amount of games we will have next season, the drop off to Rodon and Sanchez is massive. Going for Bastoni aswell as another CB makes sense and why I would love Bremer to be added on top of Bastoni / A LCB.

Would give us a realistic looking squad, with a mix or experience, youth, home grown talent and also players that are very versatile that can cover more than one position.
Squad:
Goalkeepers- Lloris, Forster, Austin

WBs: Emerson, Doherty, Spence, Perisic, Sessegnon

CBs- Romero, Dier, Bremer, Davies, Bastoni, Tanganga

CMs- Skipp, Ruiz, Bentancur, Eriksen, Hojbjerg

FWs- Carrasco, Son, Kane, Calvert-Lewin, Kulusevski, Moura

With the addition of Romero you have 18 non-HG. You would need to drop one for CL.

Not Emerson? 3 RWBs feels excessive to me
I’d like him kept for games where we want to have a more defensive RWB or if we ever went to a back 4, as Spence, and Doherty would be attack minded. On the left we would have Davies and Bastoni, and Emerson would be likely choice for right side.
However I am not opposed to him being sold, aswell as Doherty. Just thinking of getting as much versatility in the squad as possible to cover as many scenarios and situations. Sanchez would also get us a bit more money coming in than Emerson maybe.

Conte is not playing a back 4. No need to keep Emerson at all if we have Perisic, Doherty and Spence who can all play RWB.

He Maybe not, but is the more defensive out of them to play even in a 343/352 when we need to go more defensive in our game plan. As I’ll say again, not adverse in selling him, just kept him on my list as having a defensive wing/full back gives us a tactical Option.

Great squad overall. Just don’t think Calvert-Lewis would come as he’d be playing second fiddle. Based on Paratici’s track record and our need it seems likely that we will go for an older head - a Cavani would suit our purposes, or someone like Duvan Zapata.
