Possible but there aren't plenty of good alternatives for them. Banking on Rodgers getting the sack soon, Zidane who needs a break (and not sure about Ronaldo's feelings about him) or another interim. ETH and Lopetgui won't leave untill summer.

SAF still has a big sway with the United hierarchy and I think his priority is Poch to replace Ole. They will hold on until Poch is available, unless Ole brings the club to a free fall where there’s little chance of getting top four.

The Fonseca and Gattuso things did happen though. Doesn't sound like we can pin those on Levy. Treated one guy appallingly, misread the social atmosphere with another, misunderstood the club's fans with another. Steep learning curve but let us hope he's taken notes after the summer. Comes across very well in interviews so I'm hopeful

What was appalling about it?

FP didn’t ratify a job offer made by someone else?

That’s just doing his job.

Why did Levy offer Fonseca the job before appointing Fab, whose job it is to pick the manager?

Why did Levy blow up the Conte appointment in June costing us a reported £14m in severance to Nuno?

I said the other day that I felt whilst his signings seem like we'll look back at this past summer in a few years fondly that we managed to sign so many fantastic players in that one period that unfortunately his work in looking for and acquiring the manager he did put him under immense scrutiny. Well he's well and fucking truly remedied that. Doesn't get much better than this, now Paratici can fully focus on what he does best and that's convincing the best talents to take a chance on this club like he's already done with Romero and Sarr.

Completely fucked up by bringing in Nuno.

Completely redeemed himself by bringing in Conte.

Took the long way round to get him, but this has to be the biggest managerial coup in modern Spurs history so fair fucking play to Paratici. I don't think we would've had a chance in hell of bringing in Conte if he wasn't here.

Very exciting times indeed.

Maybe Levy wouldn't agree to Conte so Fab deliberately brought in someone sub par hoping it would scare Levy into paying for Conte once Nuno was sacked.

We'd agreed everything with Fonseca and then Paratici pulled out of the deal because he didn't like his playing style, and then he goes on to appoint Nuno and everyone defends him by saying there were no other options?? Levy is massively to blame for most of what we fucked up, but Paratici chose Nuno over Fonseca.

FP will be a bit more comfortable with a coach he knows well and trusts... Did brilliantly at Juve together, so hopefully they can do it with us... January window will be a blast. ?

I imagine the United equivalent of FP (do they even have one?) will be thinking long and hard about how they get Man U back to the top table. Newcastle cash injection coming. We have a superior stadium, manager and can compete revenue wise. Man C and Chelsea almost untouchable. Liverpool streets ahead of Man U. and expanding Anfield.

He did choose him. That’s not the same as f-ing over Fonseca. You just don’t like the direction of more Mourinho-ball. That’s perfectly legitimate. But Paratici didn’t offer him a job then change his mind. He was hired in part to green light the manager appointment choice.

His view was he was defensively risky, and was said to not see defensive signings as the priority. Who knows how that would have worked out. Could have been Redknapp or Ardiles.

had anyone one here heard of Fonseca before the summer? What are his credentials that make him such a sure thing?

The board made Fonseca and the club look stupid by progressing talks that far before appointing the DOF.

That’s on Levy.

Paratici pulled the plug on Fonseca for Gattuso, then was forced out of that by fan reaction. Ended up with Nuno as he was pretty much the last pick available.

Reports are that he marched out of the Man U Game and never came back. Looks like he stormed out and immediately got on the phone.......as things were happening the next day! I like that.

Fabrizio Romano said that he called Conte when he stormed off during the game I believe in his new video
