He is really not that good. It is not about if we can get him. It's more about if we want him. He is not better than lamela..alli or erriksen on current form. Talent and potental wise..he may be..but application needs poch.

But he's the shit on FM and FIFA so.. you know.

If his application needs Poch to get the best out of his talent and potential and we have Poch in charge of our club......doesn't that suggest it would be a good signing as we have what he needs and he has the potential and talent to improve us once he gets what he needs (just going by your post not anything I know personally)

IMHO Gotze is more likely now then Jurgen Klinsmann was when he came...

Generally a player of this caliber and age is a quick dismiss from me just b/c the big dogs will be in on him, but all of the ingredients are there with this one for it to be legit.

Young, talented, one year left on his contract, had a down year last year which likely made the sharks who normally would have been after him turn their interest elsewhere...lots of items on the "this is actually believable" list checked.

I feel for those who think Gotze move to juve, I want to point out that Juve's success has come from a system that makes no place for out and out attacking midfielders like Gotze, rather preferring to with two out and out strikers, and at least two box-to-box midfielders with wing backs providing width (either in 5 or 4 but their function remain the same). They may go for him anyway, but Allegri has never tended to play with out and out attacking midfielders in any of his jobs, so I suspect they will most probably look to invest the pogba money elsewhere, starting with Matic.

The Allegri bit isn't quite right, as he used a 4-3-1-2 at Cagliari very often with Andrea Cossu behind two strikers, and later at Milan he usually varied between 4-3-3 or anyone he had available that he could plug into that AM role, again in a 4-3-1-2 (he typically played Boateng there, and Kaka in the last season of his tenure).

Nevertheless, the signings of Alves, Pjanic and Benatia seems to reinforce the notion that he will stick to the 5-3-2 that's yielded most success thus far, and 2 quality CMs (especially if Pogba goes) and a striker should be the top priorities IMO (I'm a juve fan aswell btw)

Hell yes 20 to 25 mill is absurdly cheap for gotze, with poch here, he could rekindle his dortmund form, nevan subotic is available cheaply aswell, we would be set if we pulled this off.

Not that I'm entertaining this actually happening, but where would he play?

Eriksen, Gotze, and Lamela behind Kane? Where would that leave Alli?

I'm quite content if we confirm Jansen, and am ready to see what Bentaleb, Onomah and Edwards can do for us.

We've got Son who I still think will prove to be a great player for us (and really didn't do too badly in his first season).

Anyway, there's no chance of us signing him!
gotze would likely rotate with eriksen, plays best as a number 10, been misused as a false 9 recently

no chance and no point in getting him - starting front group for us is:
Kane
Eriksen, Alli and Lamela

Their back ups
Jansen (optimistic perhaps)
Nacer, Mason, Son

Their back ups
Pritch, Josh, Clinton

Yup - Gotze would never find a way into that group...

Why are we afraid to let the lads compete a little? It would make them better - look at Walker and Rose when Poch brought in competition at FB.

And then imagine a bench that had Janssen, Gotze, Son, Alli/Dembele, Wanyama, Wimmer, Vorm

We would have a sub to cover any situation we needed, attacking or defending.
