Wolves fans post match reactions where they mention him. Hardly any complaints here (draw):

but quite a few here (defeat):

Sounds like us complaining about our players in fairness after a game we don't win, so who knows.

The Wolves forum link on this story suggest they are pretty gutted he is (potentially) leaving, however a lot of that seems to be due to the perceived low price.

A lot more positive reading for us than Southampton forums re Hojbjerg for example. That said he does not have the stigma of being a 'contract rebel'. Plus Soton fans are probably tired of constantly losing key players too.

I don't have any problem with the age thing. For years we've invested in potential while the really successful clubs have invested in experience and proof. We've been told repeatedly that we won't buy 'player x' because there's no sell on value. That to me indicates that we're happy for players to use us as a stepping stone, whereas a signing like Doherty (should it happen) indicates a player willing to stay the course through his prime years. This is a Mourinho signing if ever there was one. I'm pretty sure though that down the line many will be moaning that our squad is top heavy with older players, but that's what you get when you buy the Mourinho ticket and let him have who he wants.

“we have Neves. Erm...we also have RUBEN Neves etc etc” ?

I actually can’t believe what I’m reading on that forum. It’s some of the most blinkered, deluded bullshit ever. Although Sky, Telegraph, Independent, Guardian, The Athletic and Fab Romano are reporting this, Wolves fans still chalk this one down as “click bait nonsense”

Another poster also said Wolves must be selling for so cheap because Doherty has an underlying injury that they want to palm off on us. I can only assume Wolves never conduct medicals on their players before signing them.

Another rightly pointed out that they will not be able to sign anyone nearly as good as Doherty for the reported fee of £15m. They’re more than welcome to pay us £5m on top of giving us Doherty in exchange for 1 Serge Aurier?

I've seen a few post on here that he is an Arsenal fan and quite frankly I don't give a shit.

The guy is a professional and will give his all every single game. His primary club will be the one he is playing for, that's all that matters.

If they think this is click bait they are in for a shock.

We do seem to attract weird levels of hate from small clubs.

Credit to @Tottenhamboys he said one fullback target was further along than others the other day. (Plus I like it he said Sissoko is on the for sale list). Lets hope Talksport are correct and haven't jumped the gun.

Being a Spurs fan never stopped Bergkamp from ripping us a new one at every available opportunity!

Like quite a few people have said, I cant work out the 15m fee, I genuinely didn't know Mendes could have an influence to that extent, assuming he's the reason for it.
