i still find it absolutely mind boggling we are searching for the next pochettino while allowing him to go to chelsea, literally boggles my small mind
But we're not looking for the next Poch.

We are looking for fresh new energy or at least we should be.

Poch isn't the same coach as when he joined us anyway

no, he's even better with a ton of experience both in our league and managing a very difficult club in PSG. He's in his managerial prime and he's just gone to our rivals because we didn't want him as we want someone who gave us the feeling and club he gave us

But that's a debate for another thread.....

That's an irreconcilable argument because obviously we want someone who can progress the club, play good football and have a personality that we can identify with as fans. You will clearly always feel that Poch could have brought that - others may not agree. The only near certainty is that we're going to have to try and accept it.

he did bring that, that's the issue. We know exactly the impact he had and we are trying to replace it.

I don't know whether it's the wrong or right decision. I'm not a happy clapper Daniel Levy fan and maybe he is just being stubborn but the dye would seem to be cast so in a way at least people can move on from the Poch debate - to an extent anyway.

Why is everyone so uptight ? this is the new Levy mechanism for recruitment ,Poch has to be a Chelsea cast off first and then he will entertain him.

He will sign for Chelsea purely because Tottenham have to be the punchline of every joke.

I know there was lots that went on behind the scenes last time he was here, that seems to be the reason we’ve not gone for him, but I think we’re going to massively regret this. Hope I’m wrong.

Do people who want Poch back want him to win things with Chelsea to prove they're right about wanting him back/to prove Levy wrong?

Absolutely not.

The moment he signs for Chelsea I’m finished with him and as far as I’m concerned the unfinished business is finished.

Goodbye and I hope you and Chelsea fall on your arse

On a side note, why can so many spurs fans who idolise Poch still not say his name?

SSN had some bloke from a spurs podcast on yesterday, who was saying it’s all about Poch… has to be Poch… amazing what Poch did… and yet still he called him “Potta-chino” every single time 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just astounds me how many people in and around our fan base talk about him as the only viable option and yet still can’t even say his name!

Where I’m at:

I don’t think he’s the right fit for us this time. We don’t have the squad he’d need at all. He’s probably 3rd or 4th on my list.

I don’t want him to go Chelsea but I’m not going to cry about it.

It's really quite odd how many things about MP's behaviour (and that of his backroom staff) especially over the last 12-18 months that some people want the club to over-look.

Everyone says we need a manager who will bring everyone together and work towards a common aim and yet want a manager where there is known hostility with the Board.

Totally bizarre.

Of course it’ll hurt seeing him manage Chelsea…and the first time we play them will be weird. But the thing I’m most afraid of is that he might actually give Chelsea a long term direction and style of play that we yearn for. That will hurt the most. And the most damaging thing for Spurs is that Chelsea will be (no doubt) a major threat now for top honours and top 4 for the next few years. Making our mission even harder. We HAVE to get the right next manager or we will be left years behind.
