Mate I'd say 99% of people on here would work for them for a significant pay increase from what they are currently getting. It's easy saying no in principle it's another to say no when the numbers are put in front of you.
I'm not sure I would, if I already had millions in the bank, and the knowledge another job would come along in due time.

The post was referring to many on here, which you then disagree with and say if I already had millions in the bank!

Will another job this big come along for him any time soon? Not so sure it will myself. Besides that he's not a life long fan like you are. He may well have a strong affinity with us but he's still going to be ambitious as far as his career is concerned.

This is a key point - Chelsea is as big a job as poch could reasonably ask for at this time of his career. I'm sure he feels a bit conflicted given his history here, but it isn't like he can sack off a great opportunity. Also crucially, it isn't arsenal.

I'll be a bit upset when he gets announced because he's my favourite manager and I hate Chelsea, but I won't grief him for his choice.

Despite their problems this season, Chelsea are a decent striker away from having a very very good squad.
Poch knows he'll be able to challenge for the title and domestic cups next year.
Can't blame him too much for taking the job. Unless the Real Madrid job becomes available there aren't really too many other likely managerial opportunities where you'd be able to compete straight away.

I suspect location is also a factor. He is London based these days I believe. If his preference is to be in London at this time (speculation on my part) then his options are slim if we don't want him...).

I'll be honest mate I'm deliberately not posting anything about it after the last time this happened. We literally flitted from one guy to the next and I was posting a new name we were going after every week. It's not quite as bad this time but I'm not raising false hope on a weekly basis like I did last time round just for DL to fuck it up or us getting knocked back.
Makes sense. I guess at least we seem to have cut it down to Nagelsmann and Slot, can't say overly excited by Slot but still at least he's attacking and overachieving with the squad he has. At the moment im just taking it as a positive that JN is open to discussing things even tho im very skeptical Levy's pulls it off especially if he has transfer budget demands.

Well we've 100% spoken to both Teuchel and Nagelsmann so this less experienced line is pure bollocks.
I don’t think it’s really that good for Poch being associated with Balague to be honest.

The book was an awful miss-step.

Still got it for dad for Christmas though, as he’s really hard to buy for so fuck it!

I doubt we have it down to those 2 somehow even if they are favoured. I hope the recent silence over Enrique means he has been crossed off now

One has to remember that Poch not only wants to work he wants to win trophies. When you look around at the landscape there really aren't any jobs potentially coming up that would allow him to challange at the very top. Im sure if the Rail job was available he would take it in an instant but it isn't anymore (and may not even be any time soon) so what other options does he have? Atletico job may become available and maybe some in Italy like Inter, Milan and possibly Juve but all those Italian clubs are incredibly cash strapped and Juve are a mess. Atleti is the only possible club aside from Chelsea that would maybe make sense for him to go to and who knows if they would even hypothetically be interested in him. On top of all this Poch isn't a lifelong Spurs fan, he loves the club and would love to come back (by all reports) but hes not going to take another year out of management when the Chelsea job is right there. I get it, it sucks and its true that it will make me thinking of him slightly differently but ill always respect him for what he's done here, going to Chelsea doen't change that. Clearly Levy and the board have a very strong reason for not wanting him back so fair enough if he wants to go for the best currently available job. Its just a shame that job is Chelsea.

Im sure Komapny and Ange are still there, maybe even De Zerbi. But by all accounts our two leading candidates are Nagelsmann and Slot (who has been there for some time it seems). I'd be surprised if that changed at this point unless they turn us down which JN might but Slot i doubt will. Ether way I doubt we will be bringing in new names and extending the list further at this point as much as I would absolutely love Gallardo to come back into frame. It isn't going to happen. Like you say, if anything the overall list will probably just get shorter and shorter.

Yeah I think it's easy to underestimate how small the pool of 'top jobs' actually is.

If Poch wants to get a salary anywhere near what he was getting at PSG and Spurs, he's basically only got about 10 clubs to choose from and at any given time 9/10 of those clubs don't need managers or don't feel he's the right fit.

He's already missed out on the United job, we're apparently not interested and none of Liverpool, City, Newcastle or Arsenal look like they'll be hiring any time soon. He won't go back to PSG, refuses to consider Barcelona and Bayern is unavailable.

So what's left? Just Chelsea and Madrid IF they sack Ancelotti which doesn't seem to be happening. Beyond that it's likely a big pay-cut to take one of the top jobs in Italy or a lower bracket of club in Spain or Germany.

When you also consider that his family is settled in London it's really not a huge surprise he's taken the job at all.

Daniel Levy may be the reason he is not coming here.

But he is not the reason he is going to Chelsea, that is his choice and his alone, he's shitting on us.

Erm we are also shitting on him - for going for someone else. I using the phrase because youre using it. He isnt shitting on anyone and nor are we - we dont want him, he is free to do as he wishes. I mean Real job isnt available, he isnt going to go to Bayern, he isnt going to Ligue un, so the PL is the most realistic option and in the league who else is he going to go to? nowhere

I find it strange this whole idea that we cant have him so Chelsea cant.

It does leave a sour taste but dont feel like he is betraying us etc - this is a job. Just preferred him coming here

What if your boss said deliver xyz KPIs and then when budget allows you can spend and go nuts, and You exceeded all KPIs but have a dip cos your team is exhausted and you need some fresh ideas BUT then said boss pulls the trigger on you before you even have a chance to train your new members up!! Would you think i have money in the bank so I won't join a competitor or would you say fcuk that "show me the money"? Poch is no different. We aren't showing him the money so good luck to him

Exactly, that's why i was suggesting Atelti, they are the only one coming up that would be able to offer him good wages (Simeone is currently the highest paid manager in the world) but like you say he already had a base in London. Also if he has his eye's on the Real job he may not want to take the Atleti job even if it was offered to him. Aside form them there is no other option but to wait a year or take a lesser job. At this point I his career I don't think ether option would be very appealing.
