Exactly, that's why i was suggesting Atelti, they are the only one coming up that would be able to offer him good wages (Simeone is currently the highest paid manager in the world) but like you say he already had a base in London. Also if he has his eye's on the Real job he may not want to take the Atleti job even if it was offered to him. Aside form them there is no other option but to wait a year or take a lesser job. At this point I his career I don't think ether option would be very appealing.
Great point about Atleti. Simeone's been there so long that I didn't even consider them as a potential option. Personally I think they're a much better fit for Poch than Madrid, but he might have other thoughts.

Mate I'd say 99% of people on here would work for them for a significant pay increase from what they are currently getting. It's easy saying no in principle it's another to say no when the numbers are put in front of you.
True, also being a player is one thing as you might have quite a few offers but as a manager at that level there actually aren't that many top jobs available very often so when they do come around especially one where he and his family lives he really has to seriously consider it.

Well personally I think there is almost no job lesser than the Chelsea one.

Bending over and spreading on a street corner has more kudos.

i'd take the job tbh.........

.....then burn the fucking shithole to the ground
Knowing Chelsea that would just speed up the build of their new stadium and the insurance payout would lead to them signing the next Eden Hazard.

Luckiest team of the past 20 years.

I like the irony that there is a plan at Chelsea (indeed a commitment under the terms of sale so it was reported) to build/completely redevelop a new stadium. Hope Poch enjoys that experience again!

Part of that plan was Chelsea playing games at WHL wasn't it...? That's one way to get Poch back in the home dressing room!

Daniel Levy may be the reason he is not coming here.

But he is not the reason he is going to Chelsea, that is his choice and his alone, he's shitting on us.
You having a laugh? How is Poch shitting on us? We have pushed him to cheat on us but wanting someone else. Simples really.

20% of his time with us what a shit show that involved a UCL final, and despite Jose, Nuno and Conte dressing is lower, many still haven't forgiven him for that bad 20% that included a UCL final and no signings for 3 windows. Let him go Chelsea. What Poch achieved with us means way more than my hatred for Chelsea so good luck to him. And if fans decide to boo him then I hope he cleans up with Chelsea. At least it will show Levy was wrong and Poch was right.

And Simeone said he's leaving at the end of the season so unless he has a change of heart that job will be available. But it could be that Poch really wants to go to Madrid and so would rather not go to Atleti in case it makes the move untenable. Total guess tho of course. Agree tho I think it would be a really good fit for him. TBH I'm half wondering if they go for Gallardo.

I reckon it is more likely they move them to wembley permanently or out of london than build a new stadium in Fulham

Imagine if Poch does to Chelsea what Jose and Conte did to us? Spend £100s of millions, play shit football, and tell them they should be grateful for top 4. #SecretAgentPoch

Would actually be very on brand for them to bring in Gallardo given Simeone also came direct from managing in Argentina to Atletico.

Although the style football would obviously be...somewhat different

I'd say no to Chelsea no matter what numbers they offered me. If they offered me money instead I'd definitely think about it.

Not sure if this is the same for anyone else but Twitter's trending sidebar is interesting today...

I've been close to it reading:

What if your boss said deliver xyz KPIs and then when budget allows you can spend and go nuts, and You exceeded all KPIs but have a dip cos your team is exhausted and you need some fresh ideas BUT then said boss pulls the trigger on you before you even have a chance to train your new members up!! Would you think i have money in the bank so I won't join a competitor or would you say fcuk that "show me the money"? Poch is no different. We aren't showing him the money so good luck to him

Then do the same analogy for how Chelsea is run, and see if it still makes sense to go there
