The Transfer Gods hath spoken. We've got our new signing. Got there before @Dharmabum undoubtedly posted it.

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to joinManchester United in the pursuit of Borussia Monchengladbach striker Max Kruse, Sports Direct News understands.

Spurs are anxious to add at least one striker to their squad ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, in preparation for the departure of England forward Jermain Defoe, who leaves for MLS side Toronto FC next month.

They are up against stiff competition from the Red Devils, who could find themselves in a tussle with Tottenham for a top-four spot in the Premier League come the end of the season.

United boss David Moyes flew to Germany on Friday to watch Kruse in action against Bayern Munich, a match which the European Cup holders won 2-0.

Kruse’s team-mate Patrick Herrmann, a surprise package in his side’s title bid this term, is also on United’s wishlist.

However, Spurs technical director Franco Baldini is well-connected in Europe and is sure to be calling on a string of contacts this week in an effort to attract at least one forward to White Hart Lane.

Can someone on here name 1 - just ONE - site that does not mass produce fake transfer rumours.According to a few here it seem they rather read about fake rumours on The Sun, Sky, Mirror etc....oblivious to the fact they are just as fake as those on SportsDirectNews.com.
Contrary to what some may believe, I don't take any of the rumours serious at all, but I do post once in a while just for the fun of it.

First of all, I do not take any of those transfer rumours serious, no matter which site or new paper it's published in - unlike you, who seem to believe that all other sources are (much) more reliable.
Can you name me one - just ONE - reliable "source" of transfers rumours? Just one.
You seem to lack a sense of humour. I post the rumours in the links as a banter and to ridicule/mock various sites and the whole transfer rumour mill.
Oh well, keep believing what Daily Mail, Mirror, The Sun etc churns out....
My advice: stop holding your breath when you read about the rumour mill on their sports pages

My advice: do NOT get too deep emotionally involved with those transfer rumours. And do not plan on getting the names of any of the players The Sun and The Mirror claim Spurs will buy.
Peace.

Remember Boring Old Fan (BOF)? Perhaps you don't. He used to be a regular but posts very, very rarely now. He collected the names of all the players with whom we were linked, together with the sources. By the time he packed it in, maybe six years ago, only one link that had anything to it came initially from an ITK; all the others were from the media. There have been maybe two or three since that an ITK has called a player first (Storts with Bostock springs to mind), but on the whole the press, crap as it may be, is much more likely to get the dope than an ITK.

Back then I rarely was on this board so can't remember him. But I remember I did it once, like 4-5 years, i.e. posted a list of all the players that were linked to Spurs in a summer window (I think it reached almost 130 players).
And yes, the press are at times likely to get it right and few of them do in fact have contacts. However, transfer rumours get lots of hits on the various sites (even if they should claim that, f,ex. Baldini is in Espana negotiating with Ronaldo and Messi), which in turn boosts income from adds.
My point to THFCspurs - and a few others - was that most sites are crap anyway, and few if any of the rumours can be taken seriously at all. I understood (but that can be an misunderstanding) that this thread was there to discuss transfer rumours and the specific player being "linked" in a relaxed and laid back way without actually believing the specific rumours to be true. So I post some of the links to mock the whole transfer rumour deal, fex the Diadiaby link (by sportsdirect).
But is a Kruse rumour less credible than, say, the link with Reus, Lukaku, Shaw or Pirlo?
For me I just enjoy the banter as well as reading some info about certain players...without taking the actual rumour serious :)
