Nah he's just using what they call creative accounting to wind you up, in the old days we used to call it being better at maths. Now you can use the argument Richards is the more mature and experienced player, I've got your back mate ;)

Also the statement was technically accurate - it was easy to forget, due to the fact that it wasn't true. :D

In City's title winning season, Richards looked absolutely fantastic, really the ideal fullback in every way. Best RB in the Prem at that time, but since Mancini dropped him for Zabaleta idk if he's really gotten back to his best ever.

If he played like that for us though he would easily be picked over Walker at RB. But who knows whether he can get back to that level? It is a bit of a gamble.

Yak on FTL saying he's heard that we are in for him, Yak believes he's ITK but I guess many would argue with that. :D

That said I'm sure he passes on what he hears in good faith, whether the people that pass it on to him do who knows

I think Richards would kill two birds with one stone.

He could also provide RB competition and CB depth.

And homegrown. Would love to see us make this move if we think we can keep him fit. Tremendous for City in their title-winning season in 11/12.

This gives us the potential for a back four of Danny Rose, Micah Richards, Zeki Fryers, and Kyle Walker... we could simultaneously field the most "hench" back four in the country, gain the glowing admiration of Big Sam and every English hoofball pundit, and make BC's head explode into tiny bits of footballing rhetoric.

I love it.

Hard to believe he is only 26. Seems like he has been around for decades.

I have heard a few rumours for the last few months Naughton wants out so makes sense if he goes.

Richards is good enough to be back up for us but I do worry about his injury problems.

I think if we can keep him fit he would be a fantastic signing, could provide CB and RB competition, with the strength and pace to suit both roles.

Always been an admirer of his, rated him highly and was a fantastic player during the 11/12 season (as some have mentioned) and I think he is a more than capable defender and counts as a homegrown player so that has all the pundits on our side (for once)

In addition, I really don't see city wanting to keep this guy, with Zabaleta seeming injury-free and blatant first choice, there is no need for him at RB, as well as Kompany, Demisnailis and Nastasic at CB, and with rumour of this Mangala lad coming in from Porto, can see City wanting him gone to try help balance the books for the FFP.

All go for me!

The reason why he wants to leave ManC is that he wants to play regular 1st team footy. There's no way he'll join Spurs to be a back up player.

Perfect replacement for Kaboul as the guy who we think will be really good if he ever gets out of the infirmary.

I think Richards could come and either challenge Walker for RB or Chiriches to make the RCB spot his. Home grown. Versatile, but talented. Winner all round. Sell Naughton and Dawson, buy Richards.

Richards is definitely an upgrade on naughton. I agree regarding his injuries. We do love an injury prone defender though!
