We are delighted to announce Michael Dawson as a new Club Ambassador following his decision to retire from playing.

‘Daws’ first joined us from Nottingham Forest in January, 2005, at the age of 21, quickly establishing himself at the heart of our defence. He went on to make 324 appearances for us in all competitions – including 236 in the Premier League – and was captain of the Club during the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

This has made me genuinely emotional. I was gutted when Daws left, even though I understood where we were going and what was happening, but even to hear him referring to Spurs as home… he gets it. In all these turbulent days of this week, this is a reminder of what doing it right feels like. Welcome home Daws.

This is great news! Always loved Dawson as a player. This had put a big smile on my sisters face which is a double bonus.

Loves, and loved by, the club and the fans. Always pleased to see him on TV, and delighted him and King will be reunited!

Just goes to show that your character, conduct, loyalty and personality are as important as skill when it comes to being remembered fondly and welcomed back to Spurs like it's your home.
