If we don’t get a whiff of significant movement today then it won’t happen. If he plays today against Lazio then that’s it also - no way they risk him.

Hopefully Conte shits the bed and Inters hierarchy fold.

Not a dig, but I feel our current options at centre back are either being massively underrated on this site or other clubs options are being overrated.

I think they are being under rated I agree. But now massively. Our senior CB ia on a physical decline although I am sure will have w huge part to play this season. Our youngest CB has yet to start ten premier league games for us. Sanchez, who could arguably go on to become our best defender, is aero prone and looks better next to a senior player and really can only play right sided. Eric Dier has moved back to central defence and whilst he has looked solid he also has errors in him although I still think he will be our best CD come the end of the season. It just feels a little weaker than other areas on the pitch all of a sudden. And I think you sign Toby’s ling term successor now and not wait u til he leaves or cannot play in our first team any longer.

I'm not sure how in need for money Inter are either - according to Transfermarkt, they have spent £87m and made £75m.

Even if they're looking to sign someone else before the window closes, the net spend still wouldn't be a massive figure.

Really hoping we nix the Skriniar deal and get Rudiger instead. Then, I hope we immediately try and coax John Terry out of (playing) retirement- followed by Charlie Adam- and then finally we cap it off by nailing a double-swoop for Jack Wilshere and Cesc Fabregas.

Now that would be a proper window!

I guess we've reached our cash limit on this one. Does anybody know if we've thrown in preseason friendlies, a stay at Spurs lodge and a flight on G-THFC yet ?

I was thinking we could also go in with a dozen cases of Neckoil (Beavertown bitter). Don't think you can get that in Milan yet

Agreed. I think if you had the dildo brothers going in (boom boom) I suspect they would just roll a dice with random figures on it for their negotiation....
Or if they wanted to come across all scientific, they might fire up FIFA on their Xbox and point at that to support their numbers.

Net spend doesn't mean anything. Most deals are now done over payment plans. Unless you know how much up front and how much is spread on every deal you will never know how much a club is spending/losing per window/season.

Wage bills are the big reason most clubs end up struggling anyway. Some clubs have to sell every year just to cover that, let alone this year with reduced gate and merch money.

There is no extended domestic window in Italy, so Inter would need to have their replacement in within the next 37 hours (the Serie A window shuts at 7pm UK time tomorrow).

I’m quite sure that someone has been lined up in case the transfer goes through.

It’s just when people post Twitter on here from accounts like “premtransfernews” or names like “spursITK” they’re just obviously unreliable
