I see a similarity in this to Nuno bringing in Moutinho at Wolves.

A experienced technically gifted calming influence to the midfield for certain situations.

Except Moutinho is on 100k a week. Pjanic is apparently on £270k a week. We're not spending that on wages so I see no reason why he'd want to leave Barca and join us in the European Vase.

Well you can offer him a 5m signing fee and then 170k a week. Suddenly fits the bill. Would be mad not to look at him if he is basically ona free. Take him and Skipp and replace Sissoko and Winks.

Have to laugh at people turning their nose up at Pjanic on a free when we still have Sissoko, Winks etc in our midfield ranks...

It's not free though is it. If he's on £270k a week until 2024. That's £42m in wages. Why would he come here for 170k a week plus £5m?

Pjanic is a deep lying playmaker. For that role physicals are not so important. He has great passing ability and good shot. Also he is a good free kick taker which would be helpful because we don't have prolific players who can score from free kick.

The fact he's not Sissoko or Winks is literally only one good reason why we would want Pjanic.

Prefer Ndombele for a creative CM that lacks work rate. Someone like Sabitzer would be better.

Hoijberg, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Skipp, Pjanic and Winks would have to sit on each others shoulders to see eye to eye with someone like Soucek. I know height isn't everything in CM but I'd love a physical beast to compliment what we already have.

It would need to be £5m per season remaining on his contract. Honestly a £15m signing-on fee for a player of his class is absolutely something that should interest us, even if he is 31.

Don't really need him imo. Jose weirdly playing Ndombele at 10 doesn't take away from the fact that he is best receiving the ball early in the buildup in a pivot. This allows him to utilise his press-resistance, powerful dribbling and ability to play disguised passes through the lines. Ndombele does not posses the instincts or ball striking of a 10. Signing Pjanic would stop Tanguy playing in his best position and at his age he doesn't offer anything that Ndombele can't bring to the side. I'd take him if the loan is financially appetising as he'd add to our depth and still posseses qualities.

I think Hojbjerg works best with that physical presence in midfield too. I have always liked pjanic though but whether he still has the legs, desire and determination for the premier league is another thing entirely.

Why are you so concerned about wages?! Ndombele is on about 220k a week, Sissoko 100k a week, I think Lamela is on 80k!

If the club can afford his wages and he is free and as long as its not a ridiculous 5/6 year deal, then its a no brainer.

different reports about his wages, €7.5m a year comes out to €144k a week?
