Can't see it happening, Roma would demand huge money and once it became apparent that they were willing to listen to offers, they would not be short of a few.

But he would be ideal for our system, and he could also link with the other strikers we have at the club.

Like Berba but with more pace and a sweet left foot, willing to run the channels and do the hard yards up top on his own but can also play link up man, and (when asked by Ranieri) play left of a 3.

like i said, would love it more than what's being bandied around but cannot see it.

He would be perfect. Basically the replacement for Berba we never got.

I realise Suarez and Vucinic are different types of players, but you all really think he'll be better suited to our team? Is Vucinic better than Pandev, who I believe is fairly similar, but maybe more gettable? What's the chances of Roma selling Mr Vucinic? Are they in monetary difficulties?

Personally I would prefer Vucinic to Fabiano or Suarez, given the option. I think he'd offer more of what we're after than the two we're more heavily linked with.

Would he sign for us though?

Vucinic wants to leave Roma. He hasn't been happy about not getting much action and always being used out of position when he does play to accommodate Totti. Ranieri has said he can't leave, but I think if we pushed it the Vucinic could force the issue. Lovely player.

Vucinic would suit our team better yes, he is better in the air. Yes he is also better than Pandev, taller and more physical and a better goalscorer. His goal record is deceptive because he has often been asked to play wide because of the presence of Totti and because he is technically outstanding. I would be very happy were we to spend a substantial amount on Vucinic, he's fucking quality.

This would be a dream signing. I actually think Pav could do a job for them too. A player plus cash deal maybe?

The question is whether he would join us really. But the way we're playing now and where we are in the League, I think we've got a chance. I just hope the report is accurate and we somehow pull this one off.

Vucinic is class.

His goalscoring record isnt great because he is always asked to play wide to accommodate Totti.

thanks for the info fellas. This has all the hallmarks of agent speculation (unhappy player, club unwilling to sell or appease, Link to a former admirer or Spurs, whichever). But I hope this actually has legs going on what you guys are saying. Sounds like a far cheaper, and more importantly better fit, than Suarez,

Mirko Vucinic's agent has insisted the striker has no desire to leave Roma after being linked with both Tottenham and Inter Milan.

Roma manager Claudio Ranieri has told Vucinic he will be staying at the club in the wake of rumours that he wants to go elsewhere, and the player's agent Alessandro Lucci says he is happy to stay.
"Vucinic, outside of what is written in the newspapers, is very quiet and calm," Lucci told fcinternews.it.
"He is now at Roma and is focused and wants to do well.
"Inter? What you hear is just speculation and in football you can lose a sense of reality."

Not to say there is any truth to the rumour (hopefully there is), but nowhere does the agent say tha Vicinic wants to stay at Roma. Agents would never say that, anyhow, even if it were true. Agents always want their clients to move around as much as possible, so they can skim those transfer fees.

This would be a great signing, his style would fit our team perfectly from what I have seen of him.

One of my cousins is a Roma fan (well so is my uncle and all that side of the family except the younger traitor Lazio fan) and he loves Vuninic more than Totti (who is God to AC ROma) but insists there is no way we could sign him now, Roma would not sell.

Money talks though, I'm sure if Levy made them an offer they can't refuse we would get a fee agreed (it wasn't so long ago Roma were being talked about as going bankrupt)

Just depends if Roma's value of an offer they can't refuse matches what we are prepared to pay, and of course how high up (if at all) he is on our list of strikers we are looking to sign.

I'd love Vucinic at the Lane but sadly there is little chance of that happening. For the last 22 years I have kept a list of the 10 (at the time) little known players I would like Spurs to sign. We've been linked with plenty but in all that time Spurs have only signed 3 of them - Rebrov, Bale & Modric. Vucinic was on my 2007 list .

Is this guy better than the best Montenegrin of all time, a man who totally mastered the football while at his feet, and one of my all time favourite footballers....Step forward Dejan Savićević.
