I just found this from Mods and he sounds like he loves spurs and wants to stay and even seems to be hoping to extend his contract!

Luka Modric has played down talk of a move to Manchester United, by insisting that he is happy with life at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Croatian playmaker was yesterday linked with a possible switch to Old Trafford, but Modric has vowed to continue to give his all for Spurs.
“I don’t know anything about the Manchester United link,” Modric told Sportske Novosti.
“I read about it in the newspapers, and one paper even published quotes from me saying I was happy to be on Sir Alex Ferguson’s radar.
“But the truth is that I didn’t say anything to anybody about this. They were not my words.
“I feel great at Tottenham and I have given no thought to moving to a different club. My contract runs until 2013 and I am just thinking about staying.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Tottenham offer me a new contract as that is something which happens in England. But, even if that doesn’t happy, my feelings will not change.
“I am happy at White Hart Lane and I will continue to give my all for Tottenham, as I always have.”

Modric dashes United talk

Spurs playmaker not looking to leave White Hart Lane

Luka Modric has moved to distance himself from speculation suggesting he is a target for Manchester United.
Reports had suggested that Red Devils chief Sir Alex Ferguson was weighing up the merits of a move for Tottenham's diminutive playmaker.
However, the Croatia international claims he has no knowledge of any such interest and insists he is happy to remain at White Hart Lane for the foreseeable future.
"I don't know anything about the Manchester United link," Modric told Sportske Novosti.
"I read about it in the newspapers, and one paper even published quotes from me saying I was happy to be on Sir Alex Ferguson's radar.
"But the truth is that I didn't say anything to anybody about this. They were not my words.
"I feel great at Tottenham and I have given no thought to moving to a different club. My contract runs until 2013 and I am just thinking about staying.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Tottenham offer me a new contract as that is something which happens in England. But, even if that doesn't happy, my feelings will not change.
"I am happy at White Hart Lane and I will continue to give my all for Tottenham, as I always have."
Modric has also expressed his delight at Spurs' impressive start to the season, with the 23-year-old of the opinion that Harry Redknapp's side are capable of claiming a top-six finish this term.
"Everything is perfect, I really can't complain," he added.
"I think the main thing is that the team has stayed together over the summer. Now we are a year stronger and also coach Redknapp has made us into a real team.
"The big four are still way ahead of the others, and Manchester City are now a real threat as well.
"But we also have big ambitions. We don't want to talk about fighting for the top four, but our aim is to be in the top six at the end of the season. I think we are good enough to do that."

someones also angling for a new contract by the sounds of it! cant blame him i suppose but suppose it depends on how much hes on already, dont want to risk upsetting our other high earners either.
sensible talk about top 6 too, no point heaping pressure on the team publicly, they can talk about top 4 amongst themselves and at team meetings etc but definitely shouldnt out in public

Good ol' Luka, will be a big player for us for the rest of this season, if he's performing well, I dare say Tottenham will be.

shame he couldn't add in a "f*ck off fergie" comment.

hopefully the comment about a new contract means he wants to extend his contract when it gets close to finishing as opposed to improving the wages.

btw, i remember reading other messageboards saying that his agent is a bit of a pr*ck so i fear another berba situation with his agent stirring things up. At least modric doesnt have the same attitude

if he was a young english player im sure he'd be banging on harry's door wanted a transfer.

Modric knows he will develop best here, he could have easily waited till after Euro 2008 and gone anywhere he wanted. He came here because of Ramos and sadly it didnt work out, but you can see from the group of lads and training pictures that WHL is a great place to be at the moment.

The good thing is Harry is not a coach to take a player as he is, he will try to improve Modric continually so its all looking good

i can see the whole berba scenario repeating itself all over again. Modric is definitely a class act and unless we qualify for the champions league soon, he'll be too big a fish for our pond. I remember when the berba rumours started...it was all too similar with denial from berba and his agent initially, followed by continued speculation and then the horrible end. here's hoping we've learnt from the saga and don't make the same mistakes. Having said that, if luka or any other players wants to leave, there's not much a football club can do these days.
