Great performance by the team and with someone other than Defoe up there it might have been 4 or 5.

Disagree abound the subs, dembele and holtby looked knackered so sandro was a good sub and it was great seeing andros on the left.

For once I notice why paulinho was bought. He was good today. Not great but really good.

MOM though can only go to Dembele. What a player he is. What a player.

Special mention to walker as well. Has improved in leaps and bounds and with this kind of consistent performances should make him a sure bet to be englands no 1 RB.

I would still go for defoe next game. I really think he makes better runs than Soldado but rustiness cost him today.

Walker was MOM, he's starting to defend with conviction, the next step is to develop his attacking play and stop giving defences chances to reorganize.

Capoue - 7 Not that much to do, but seems comfortable at CB
Dawson - 7 Not that much to do, only 1 errant hoof by my count
Naughton - 6.5 Not really his fault he is played on the left, but he kills any chance of attacks down the left

Dembele - 8.5 Great game. Just a physical beast.
Paulinho - 7.5 Opportunistic goal, wasted yet more chances again today. Is key to our attacks though.

Lennon - 7 Had the beating of his man all day, but nothing that impressive
Holtby - 7.5 Floated around everywhere, pulled the strings, pressed. Good effort Lewis.
Chadli - 6.5 Anonymous for long stretches

Defoe - 5 Hit the post twice, but you really have to score in this game JD. Soldado would have.

Sandro - 7 Lucky to not get called for a penalty
Townsend - 7.5 Crushed from the left. Hopefully he gets a few starts over there. He can create the service for our strikers.
Sigurdsson - ?? Not sure if he was actually on the pitch or not

Easily our best attacking performance in that second half.

Lloris: 6 - Luckily his first half mistake wasn't costly

Walker: 8 - Great performance. He's been very good of late and I think this was his best performance of the season
Capoue: 8 - Did very well at the back, looked fine.
Dawson: 6 - Brave, stood firm at the end, but man he's so slooow and he gets caught so often flat footed.
Naughton: 7 - Think he did very well considering he is a right back.

Dembele: 8 - Great performance from Mousa and showed some of that initiative we crave to see from him to make the 2nd goal. Hope he's OK.
Paulinho: 7 - A lot better than usual. Defoe ought to have moved into a position to get him an assist at the end.

Lennon: 9 - MOTM. Work rate 10/10. Linked up well with our midfield and with Walker. At his best today.
Holtby: 7 - Should have had an assist, worked hard. Tidy in his play.
Chadli: 6 - The header back to Paulinho gets him a 6, otherwise it would have been lower. Can't see what he offers.

Defoe: 5 - Chance after chance today. If we had conceded an equaliser at the end I'd have been so upset.

Townsend: 7 - Came on and helped aleviate the pressure. Should be him and Lennon on opposite wings.
Sandro: 6 - Lucky not to give away a penalty.
Sigg: 5 - NET. Pointless sub IMO as he stood in the space between CM and Defoe and didn't do much.

Capoue - 7 - good job overall. Could replace Dawson there long term
Dawson - 7 - solid for once
Naughton - 7 - expected worse, good job

Paulinho - 7 - could have more than one
Dembele - 8 - very good today for me

Chadli - 7 - did good things but with his feet not a big threat going forward. But a good promising squad player
Holtby - 7 - big effort but poor shooting today

Lloris - 5 - Two mistakes, one costly and Dawson saves his arse on the other. Seriously think he's still a bit rattled after the Lukaku incident.

Walker - 8 - Looks more like the Walker from two seasons ago.
Capoue - 7.5 - Surprisingly competent at CB.
Dawson - 7 - Bailed Lloris out once, no massive blunders.
Naughton - 7 - Probably his best game for us.

Paulinho - 7.5 - Striker's instinct for the goal.
Dembele - 8 - Class

Holtby - 7 - Growing into the role
Chadli - 6.5 - Didn't really happen for him

Defoe - 5 - PLUS: Worked fairly hard. MINUS: Got chances but wasted them, and the lack of anticipation he showed when Paulinho played the ball across goal in injury time was shocking.
