As it was so obvious I will stick another poll up.
A tricky question for me Holtby started like a house on fire but burnt himself out, I thought Dempsey tried hard playing out of position but he lacked finesse, Parker is getting there and put in a lot of work but my vote goes to the Captain .

Daws for me. Parker was very good, as was Lloris. Holtby man of the first half.

Lloris or Dawson for me, voted Lloris because of the save right at the death. Parker would have been up there had it not been for his AWFUL passing today. But he beavered away, as he does.

Dawson was superb I thought, probably his best game this season imo.

Dawson for me, followed by Lloris, Lennon, and Parker (for their defensive work)

Walker was much improved also

Thought Caulker and Dempsey were poor and Naughton was dire

This pretty much sums it up. Thought the defensive effort today was very solid, led by Dawson (so glad he stayed). Again we just lacked cutting edge in the final third.

Walker was solid today defensively and made some good runs. More promising performance from him, just needs to work on his crossing, but Dawson MOTM for me after Bale.

Lennon for me, grafted all game. He's having a great season and finally crossing well, and choosing the right final ball. Holtby was good too. I was disappointed to see him taken off. Dembele wasn't at his best today I'd have swapped him for Ade instead of LH.

Overall as a team i think Newcastle were better than us today. Though our class showed through. We need to up our game. But a win is a win, and you can't be 100% all the time. So I'm happy with the result :)

The "agree" is for your choice of Lennon Bill. I disagree with the "chosing the right final ball" thing, but I think Lennon's work rate today deserves him possibly getting the "without Bale" award.

Lennon put in a very good team performance loads of tracking back with a few interceptions and tackles. I thought Dempsey put in a decent shift in a role he obviously isn't comfortable in. Dawson had a classic Dawson match, a few raking 70 yard passes and a few shit passes, oil tankeresque displays of agility and heroic blocks.

Holtby on another day could of had 3 goals in the 1st half, very similar to VDV the way he hits them 1st time around the penalty box, faded as the game went on. Lloris showed excellent concentration to save 2pts at the end.

On the balance probs Lennon, great work rate even if his final ball radar wasn't quite calibrated right today.

Parker ...just.

Charges around a little too much for one of his experience, but i felt his energy and heart kept us going.

Nowhere near the man of the match performance, but it was nice having Ade being the spearhead of our attack. Him being the outlet and occupying the defenders helped get Bale behind their team.
