I cannot believe that we cannot see it. Arsenal have done some great work in the transfer market again securing the signatures of Gervinho for a bargain of £10.7 mill.

They have also got anoter exiting player from Costa Rica now. Joe Campbell. I hate to see them doing good signings. We need people who can see how to build a team for the future and also players who can strenghthen the team now.

It is not that difficult to see what is a good signing or not..... is it?

We have the money as well - we just need people who can build a team with great players. The thing is. It is not always about the money, because they do not need to be that expensive. It is about getting the right backroom scouts to do the job. We need better scouts at The Club. A player like Gervinho should have been signed from Beveren a long time ago.

spursking - you would be happy if spurs signed an unknown player from another country who has never done anything and a player who they dont need? Im convinced some people are at their happiest when complaining. Arsenal need a CB, a GK and a CM and none of these areas have been addressed yet.

It's Joel Campbell and they haven't signed him yet. Apparently there's another English club after him who have made a better offer.

19 and 3 appearances for his club. Apart from that I know bugger all about him.

Not when you see things as clearly in black and white as you do.

It sounds like we're close to signing Souleymane Coulibaly. We've signed Ceballos and could also be signing Pedrozo and Leandro. There's also mention of the Japanese lad Yamada today as well.

Lets wait and see how things turn out. Ian Broomfield has only been in the job a couple of years. It's going to take time.

As for Gervinho, he wanted to join Arsenal over Spurs. It's probably easier for them to sign players from France because of the huge reputation Arsene Wenger has over there.

He may not even be that good in the EPL yet. Chamakh has hardly set the world alite since his arrival.

Spursking has gone on and on (and on and on) about Gervinho for about five years now, not surprised to see this thread pop up.

As others have said, he's not what Arsenal have really needed, and so many import players fail to perform in the PL that there's no reason to be down and depressed about this.

Imports fail?

The signings Wenger has failed with has been British.

Wenger has had more success in general with imports than with British players, it's true. But the dealings of last summer with Koscielny, Squillaci and Chamakh back up what I said in my original post. Even Wenger can fail with the foreigners.

Yes, Wenger has also failed with imports, but the names you mention are not really bad signings, as they still managed to secure Champions League football, and they did not pay that much for them either.

Koscielny, Squillaci both cost a little bit, and I don't think they are great signings. I am surprised that he did not sign a player like Mamadou Sakho instead - to mention one. Chamakh was almost free, and is a good signing.

I'm sure you've been asked this before SK but why do you support Tottenham and not Arsenal?

It is about, Pride, Passion and Glory. Tottenham Hotspur FC is the only Club to support.

I just want the best for my/our Club.

spursking you have an obbession with african players I have noticed! You say spurs should look to the future...

Danny Rose
Kyle walker
Steven Caulker
Ceballos
Pedroza

This could be are future and add harry kane to that.

I remember when david pleat signed a load of unknown youngsters, zamora, davies, ethrington etc We need a balance of the future and the present, arsenal have not adressed what they need.

I'd have to disagree Spursking, it seems to me that since Mr Wenger has had to build his own team after losing the last of the players he inherited he has failed to reach anything like the heights previously achieved and the standard which he is perceived to have reached.
I believe the best thing about Gervinho is his PR man who gave him a Brazilian sounding name.
I am also sure that had they signed Pedroza there would be people asking the same questions but who aren't that fussed that we have signed him.

Reason to that is because he has got his head up his arse and thinks football should only be played the right way and player like adams can also be negative to up and coming players if they have a go at them if they make a mistake

This has apparently fallen apart after the player and his father didn't show for a meeting, sounds like they used Arsenal just to get his name out
