Right fun game to waste sometime until the new season on sunday

Out of all our signings you have to say what your thoughts are on them and what your expectations are for them this season and your gut feeling.

Paulinho - looked beastly for brazil and looked okay in the friendly sat his touch was a bit off expect him to take a while to adjust but once he does he will be a beast. Expectation : Slow star but will develop into a monster

Chadli - Really like the look of him think out of all the signings he is going to be the star. Expectation : Star and will be the shocking signing

Soldado - Looks immense if he scores on sat i think he will go on to have a great season but if he doesnt it could get very interesting. Expectation : Super Star

Capoue - Havent seen nothing of him in our colours but was voted second best player in ligue 1 last year could be another one likely to come in under the radar and impress.

Most likely to flop : Paulinho just never know with brazilians for every sandro there is a kleberson

Most likely to impress : Chadli just have a feeling about him

Most likely to do what is expected : Soldado

Chadli is the one most likely not to be a hit for us IMHO.

I hope my onion is wrong.

Soldado is going to be a class act.

Paulinho: Wilson Palacios (2009 version) x 10

Chadli: Talented but young and still learning his trade. Will be a substitute for most of the season and as such doubt that we'll see the best of him this season.

Soldado: Ready made, European level International. Reminds me of Van Der Vaart in his attitude. Will hit the ground running and be one of the stars of the league this season and hopefully beyond.

Capoue: Another player with a good attitude and workrate. Will likely get stuck in from day one and prove to be a vital link between defence and midfield. Watch our formation evolve over the season to incorporate him in a midfield with Sandro/Paulinho and Dembele...

Most likely to flop: Chadli

Most likely to impress : Soldado

Most likely to do what is expected : Soldado

Good additions - lets just chill out and watch a few games.

These signings have proved that many of our fans are shallow and just want the next big "name" signing rather like those at Real .

I think Chadli will do a lot better than expected, hes young hes fast, hes strong and hes physical. I havent seen alot of him prior to his move bar him featuring against us but from what I have read from fans in Holland he seems like he is well liked and was ear marked for great things.

Soldado I think is class I love the guy, he is Spursesque no doubt about it and he will score goals, ALOT of goals.

I think Paulinho too will do well but untill I see how they line up and his role in the team, how far forward he gets it will be harder to tell if he will be a real hit.

Every exciting times thats for sure.

i don't think soldado will score as many as people seem to think, he needs supply and we often haven't given our strikers that. we aren't stacked full of creative players so i'm not sure where all of thse goals are going to come from, he'd probably bang them in if he played for chelsea or arsenal but considering we've gone for the powerful, direct approach i don't know why we didn't just pay up for benteke who'd have fit perfectly, is much younger and already knows the league/language/players at spurs.

Chadli in most danger of being a flop. its also conceivable that soldado could struggle if we continue play turgid football and dont provide him with chances

All depends how we play I guess, you dont always need an out and out "creative player", if you have power and pace, with good movement and good passers of the ball there will always be gaps. Dont get me wrong I would love a Modric or a VdV but AVB undoubtably has a plan.

i think they'll all be solid if unspectacular. just how avb likes it.

You need a hug more than spurger king.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Paulinho and I'd hope to see him get 10 goals this season. Looks like he'll be dangerous from set pieces and a real box to box midfielder.

I think Soldado will do good job. It can't be worse than it was last year with Ade&Defoe. I'm not so sure about Capoue. He's a little mystery for me.

Really not sure about Chadli. Links play nicely and is strong but is he quick enough, skilful enough and enough of a goal threat? I don't think I saw him cross the ball once, nor do I think I've seen him vaguely look like scoring, yes it's early days but if there's anyone to be a flop i think it may be him, hope I'm wrong though-also he's Belgian so he must be worldy.

Soldado should be good is he stays fit although bit worried he won't get enough service due to our style of play.

I think Pauliniho will be very good for us still not sure how we managed to sign him!!

Not seen capoue play ever so can't comment but with Parker Livermore and hudd going seems like a sensible signing.

Now just want us to get a CB incase jan and Kaboul stay injured we are fucked,a real quality goal scoring winger lamela would do and sell Adebeyor and buy a young striker to be back-up for soldado and Defoe.

Do all of that and we will have a chance at the title I feel.

I'm amazed by the over optimism for Soldado, we will just have to wait and see. Nothing is guaranteed, even with a large price. I certainly would not say he looked "immense" against Espanyol!
I would say immense is what Bale looked like against Inter.

Agreed on both points. Chadli is probably the least developed out of our new signings and I reckon he'll need time to fully develop. I see him as a similar purchase to that of Siggy and Holtby - young player who still need some development. However, it's nice to get in a player who feels comfortable out on that left hand side, instead of shoving Siggy there who doesn't suit it much despite his efforts.

I think Capoue and Paulinho will do very well, they'll just knuckle down and get on with it, brining solidity to the team.

Your Soldado point is spot on. He's far more likely to bury his chances than Ade and Defoe, you can see how much of a natural finisher he is, but he needs those bloody chances. We still need to learn how to open up defences otherwise this boy is going to end up very frustrated. He's got a great touch, excellent movements and makes good runs. I just hope we can play to those strengths instead of him having to drop deep all the time just to see the ball and finding ourselves being too compacted and predictable.
