If Liverpool voted against it then it's easy... don't have it. The rest of us can.
Away fans won't have it so they'll be happy wherever they go.

But they didn't vote against it so it's irrelevant.
What about Forrest fans?

Anyone else having issues with the Stadium CamYouTube links crashing after opening? They open for me then crash after a few seconds (on mobile).

Some large 'ring pieces' and what look like shelf brackets on the ground between the two north cranes, anyone have an idea what they're for ?

It is truly amazing how these massive construction projects work, when you consider it looks like full on chaos!!

I'm an electrical contractor by trade and have been looking for work this week.
Guess where I'm starting next week :)

Hi, please can you play identify the maker of the video when posting. (EJG on SSC)
Seems only fair that the clever man who made it should get the credit.
Thanks.:)

Is there anything stopping anyone from clicking the youtube icon and finding out?

Does anyone else look at the site and think there just seems absolutely no way it's going to be ready in 12 months from now?

I've done a bit of reading into comparable sized stadium build times and it seems that they range from 26 months to 3.5 years. Emirates was one of the least at 29 months.

With the added complexity of ours with the double use and retractable pitch, it's one of the most technologically advanced and complicated ever built -- I just don't see how it can also be one of the fastest.

Only a few days ago, we had someone on here crowing about how fast it was progressing and reckoning it would be ready early.

He didn't work in the construction industry either ;).

I'll just repeat what I wrote then: you can't tell from general observation whether a project is ahead or behind its completion schedule. You have to peruse the detailed works programme and compare it to what has been achieved on site. The substructure and the fitting-out take ages and little appears to happen. The erection of the superstructure is relatively quick and thus dramatic. We're just finishing that phase on 3/4 of the stadium and, from what we read here, the structure of the south stand is a steel frame, designed to go up more quickly.

But you can't tell just from looking. I've been working in the development industry for 30 years and I can't tell.

The earliest prep work on the site was carried out over two years ago now, and the 'digging out' commenced about two years ago now exactly. Another year and that takes you to roughly three years, so in line with other stadium projects.

I have said before myself that from the end of 16/17 season to 18/19 season provisional opening date it is a demanding timeframe with a 'critical path' of demolition - pitch(es) - south stand - roof - completing the fit out. I'm very surprised they have already started work on the steel structure, I assumed the construction of the pitch areas would require all that space first up, but it looks like they will be working on those tasks simultaneously - which is a considerable help to the project. In general I'd expect the site to be a lot busier in the next year (and people think it is busy already), because along with all the 'outside' stuff that is obvious, we will have the comings and goings of those going full steam on getting the inside fitted out and ready.

What also has to be considered is that there are other factors at play on these builds and how long they take - weather can be one, problems with contractors etc. and delays from that, financial issues which can cause a slowdown... From both the club and those in charge of overseeing the construction, it has (so far...) been a very well managed project.

No. because the club have said it will be ready for next season.
Which in construction or any project is only true at time of saying/printng. Like @davidmatzdorf says, no one but those close to the plans will have any idea. You are right in the sense that until someone says otherwise, that is the latest info and all we can, or should go by.
