Guys, anyone who worked for Levy in recruitment is not coming back here. He knows how the sausage is made here. Edwards is a pipe dream.

He pretty much just made the teas when he was here last time. Under Comolli we spent pretty well, he just didn't address all the right areas of the team. Back then Levy wasn't thought of as the ogre he's now portrayed on SC as being of course.

He was an analyst I think, but he’ll have seen how Levy constantly interferes and is a control freak. No-one who has aspirations of being a top DOF wants to work being stymied like that.

Levy's reputation preceding him is going to become more and more of a problem imo. The manager and DoF roles at us are no doubt still seen as big roles in football however can't shake off the feeling that the regard in which they are held in is maybe slowly eroding. With the emergence of Newcastle, the managers/DoF job there already look a more appealing prospect. You could argue even a club like Villa look to be getting their act together and if things carry on an upward trajectory for them over the next few years, lot of candidates may think twice about coming to us over them although ordinarily you'd think we'd be more of a draw.

Just feels like a time where the club need to take stock and recognise how modern day football operates and is evolving and look to how a lot of our competitors are operating to give themselves the best chance to succeed. However have no confidence this will ever happen under Levy's stewardship. I look at him and some of the names on the board and it all feels tired and stale and stuck 10+ years in the past. Most of all it's the repetition of the same mistakes which suggest nothing is likely to change. At this stage, bringing in Munn and another DoF gives me no hope anything will change but obviously happy to proven wrong but not holding my breath.

No doubt roles at us are well paid but there's always the concern that you come out the other end with your reputation taking bit of a hit or at best stagnating. Some of Mourinho and Conte's comments have maybe opened the door for people to question if they are likely to make a go of it as us. Not like they are two nobody's and God knows what opinions they are sharing within football circles.

Again, not saying that people will instantly close the door on the roles at us as the chance to work in the best league in the world at a high profile club etc is still massive but I think anyone who has build up somewhat of a reputation at a high level may not necessarily be jumping at the chance.

I doubt it will be Edwards. We need to find someone who knows nothing about Levy then we might stand a chance. Get someone from Australia, Munn must be able to find someone out there who has no knowledge of how Levy operates.

Levy's reputation may be bad amongst a lot of Spurs fans, but in the football world he does have a decent level of respect. He's on the European Club Association board, he regularly talks to Nasser Al-Khelaifi and Simon Jordan always talks of his admiration for Levy. Plus money talks! I don't think directors will turn down the role based on Levy.
Its potentially a good position as Spurs are a fairly wealthy club, so should be regularly involved with buying and selling players, which has been the case in recent seasons.

This guy has no credentials other than is name, I’m afraid.
TBF its a bit of a non story, it just says we have looked at him according to his entourage. Doesn't mean much really. Im sure we have looked at lots of different options. I still don't see it being Edwards tho.

As businessmen, I'm sure they greatly admire his business acumen and rightly so. However on the ground amongst what I'd call 'football people', I wouldn't say it's just the spurs fans who don't hold him in the highest of regards when it comes to the way he operates.

Even Crocodile Dundee knows who Levy is.

Wouldn't this mean finding someone who knows nothing about the Premier League?

Is there a more famous (infamous) owner as Levy in the world. I dont think there is another club so intertwinned with the owner like us

I think your probably biased because you are a Spurs fan. Most clubs probably think the same of their own owners.

I'm sure you have a point however I firmly believe most football fans in the UK knows who Daniel Levy is. I dont think there is another club in the Premier League where an owner/chairman is that well known.
