You see this from time to time with new owners. Just spent a lot of money buying a club and may not have money to go buy fancy transfers so they pick a fan favorite and "hold firm" against an offer from "elite" clubs.

Optimistic but I hope we are interest in Grealish if ND is sold (as he should be in my opinion). Sadly I think the Grealish boat has sailed for us though. I’d rather go for him than Zaniolo as Italian players rarely adapt with a few exceptions (Zola, Di Matteo for example) so more of a gamble.

I’d like to see Grealish and Dele competing for a spot behind Kane with GLC and Hojbjerg in the midfield two.

If Tanguy goes for cash this shouldn’t be seen as an impossible deal. Tanguy cash plus 1-2 of our fringe players and he could be ours. I know part ex’s aren’t easy but unlike trying to swap players at elite clubs Villa are a poor side and need multiple upgrades. I think they would snap our hands off if we offered them the likes of Foyth and Rose in a deal.

I’d like to believe you were right but we don’t know if Jose like Grealish and also I think if we did show interest his agent would be on the phone to United and I think he’d choose them over us.

I think the business we have done and are looking to do so far is solid and address the obvious problem areas although I still think we need another creative midfielder in the CE, Bruno Fernandes mould, not a winger.

Foyth (20m) + Rose (5m) + 25m = Grealish?

Though grealish has played in the wing role for aston villa, I see himself as a number 10 or someone like zaniolo/brooks mould who could start as winger but play inside always ... Like how we used to play eriksen when son played as pure winger, kane striker and dele as number 10
