Andre Villas-Boas is ready to bolster his Tottenham squad with a surprise move for Nir Biton after inviting the Israel midfielder to White Hart Lane for talks.
Biton was expected to join Manchester City, after impressing their coaching staff during a trial at The Etihad Stadium, and has also attracted interest from Everton and Aston Villa.

But Tottenham appear to have seized the initiative, after Biton and FC Ashdod owner Jacky Ben-Zaken flew to London to discuss a deal and make sure there were no problems over a work permit.
Though City were considering a loan move for Biton, Ashdod are short of funds and want to negotiate a permanent deal for a player who has been likened to former Arsenal favourite Patrick Vieira for his midfield athleticism.
Villas-Boas is more concerned about landing a suitable replacement for Real Madrid-bound Luka Modric but sees 20-year old Biton as a useful back-up who would strengthen his central midfield options.

Looks like a decent prospect who would fit in with AVB's style of play. Could be a useful addition to the squad.

Zikes, 6ft 5 inches! The guy is a youngster, so bring him in and if he's good enough - bargain. Clip looks like he's got something, but the EPL is different to that standard.

I know it's only a youtube video, but he did not look too out of place amongst the City superstars. But then why did City not want to sign him?

because they want to loan him for 1 year and this move cant get him a work permit, but if tottenham will buy him this won't be a problem for a work permit in uk.

I shouldn't imagine that he would be very expensive, and I can see Levy taking a punt on him. He does look as if he could be a real prospect.

He is the type of player that excites me.

Looks tidy, plus if he does well we know Man City have interest and we can milk their chequebook!

He actually impressed on his trial, but was only offered a short term deal which was rejected by his agent.

He looks very good in that second video - particularly against the Arse. Things I like are his tenacity, strength, willingness to receive the ball (even in tight situations) and passing range. If you look at our development squad, central midfield seems to be an area where our recruitment of young players is particularly strong, so if we bring him in I will have high hopes for him.

Agree, it was the clips against Arsenal that made him look the most proficient in the videos (and with them being against premier league players, most relevant too).

Has a touch of the Ya-Yas about him from looking at the videos. Might be worth a punt as he offers something different to what we currently have. A bit of height in midfield is often valuable in the premiership. Didn't notice him winning many headers though but that might simply be that the opposition kept the game on the ground. Debut against Stoke away perhaps?

The only headers he seemed to win in the videos looked to be when he played against England! Figures...

Looks a bit one-paced, but so was Zidane. In fact he was a bit Zidane-esque in his dribbling skill; but can he do it in the Premiere League? No harm for a 2-3 million gamble.

Just got home, couldn't watch video on mobile. He looks very good to me in that video - the one where he is wearing that filthy sky blue shirt... Can't remember the team... Tin-pot something or others.

Anyway, good touch, crisp passing, he didn't shy away from it either and for a guy his height he seems to clear it from under himself pretty well. Not sure he'll get the same amount of space in the EPL but for under 3m I'd take the gamble

Hey why the hell not.

If he's a replacement for Jenas I will be happy. Plus, even if he's shit we didn't spend the world on him. Love signings like this.

From those videos he looks a good prospect, big and strong but good with the ball at his feet, and whilst not being the quickest looks like he could run all day. Also for his club it looks like he plays further forward but at his trial games for City played in a deeper role so can cover different roles in the midfield. May as well get him down the training ground and see how he gets on, looks like he has a lot of potential.
