We all love a bit of ITK. But lets be honest 90% is B*******!!!

I can see the transfer window closing with one more signing, Pletikosa!

Arry will then tell us, "We've signed Pletikosa, Gallas and Sandro"

Back up GK, experienced defender and a rising star from Brazil.

Arry will then tell us, he has four strikers at the club and what would he do with one more!? He's happy with the squad blah blah blah.

**** What Arry is really thinking****

1) I'd love Fabiano as he's better then all our current strikers.

2) Levy is mentally killing me trying to buy world class players for £1.

3) We've qualified for CL and still can't buy the players i want, Yet Liverpool are bust and snapping up players for fun.

Hope i'm wrong but i've seen it too many times in the past. Sold Keane and Berba and signed Frazier Chipmunk on loan. So god knows what will happen in the next 1.5 days.

Come on Levy splash the cash!!!!!!!!!

A silly thread tbh.

Nobody can insinuate that levy doesn't like to "splash the cash". Look at recent signings mate. From my memory we are somewhere around third or fourth in highest spenders the last 5 years.

We have a full squad with plenty of options. A striker could be useful but is still not essential. We have defoe/pav/crouch/keane, 4 good strikers. It only takes one of them to go on a hot streak and all the "we need him, him and him" talk would cease.

At the end of the day as long as you take a step forwards every year your fine. We have. Sandro and gallas will be great additions to the squad. Plus the fact we have signed Modric and Bale on new long term contracts recently proves that the chairman is looking to the future.... We are no longer a selling club and it’s fantastic.

Life isn't football manager. We've had a bank busting recession; the transfer window has been extremely quiet anyway. There is no point in busting the bank trying to make the top 4............Look what happened to Leeds. What we need is to keep the young players we have and slowly improve the squad.

I wish people would stop comparing us to Leeds or Pompey!

We are financially sound and would never end up in that position.

So you would prefer not to push the boat out and buy someone like Young or Fabiano; players who could help us maintain top 4 and also compete in all competitions.

"There is no point in busting the bank trying to make the top 4"

Levy should be pushing our finances to the limits to bring in better players. If we can't do it after qualifying for CL then we will never do it!

I still maintain that our route to improvement is by building team spirit, getting the players to gain a better understanding of each and Harry learning how to change the team and tactics to suit the different challenges this season.

We have backup in every position and internationals and players on the fringes of the national side barely getting a game.

We should only buy if the player is exactly who Harry wants, we shouldn't buy for buyings sake.

onlly 90% is bullshit ? i havent read an ounce of truth in there as far as i can see....

really? Well much of the ITK has said we are interested in Fabiano and HR confirmed he liked him but said he is 2 expensive. Other ITK said we are after Parker and Bellamy - Harry confirmed they are true. ITK confirmed Pletikosa was coming and Harry confirmed that. Just because a deal doesnt come off, doesnt mean we werent interested - if you think that we sign every single play we bid/enquire for, then you really are nieve!

I agree! But "IF" Arry is telling Levy he wants Fabiano and Young and Levy doesn't deliver, how do we expect Arry to improve us and push on for more success!

We can do it once we have had continuous success. At the moment we are able to attract a similar quality player to the players we have bought in the last three seasons. World class players haven't suddenly put Spurs at the same level of attractiveness as Man Utd, Chelsea and Europes elite.

If we want world class players we have to go down the Man City route and pay huge wages which often results in players like Gareth Barry 90k a week or more. This creates a lack of balance and Levy is right to not lose his head and start spending big because we've finished 4th once.

We've had this thread so many times in this window it's getting ridiculous.

Although suggesting we're falling behind by not signing Paul Konchesky is an interesting new, and daft, angle.

You know why we're not like them, because we don't do the rest of what you say:

Levy should be pushing our finances to the limits to bring in better players. If we can't do it after qualifying for CL then we will never do it!

It's quite simple really, and given the fact that the economy is going to go through another dip, we have a stadium to finance, it might be sensible to keep some aside for a rainy day.

We're not playing FIFA or FM here. It's a real business that's subject to a real economy.

And whats BAE??? World class??? Arry can't stop taking him off!!!!

Both average players!

Cant fault Levy in the slightest, he's backed Harry to the hilt and will continue to do so im sure. Agree with not paying silly prices for players tho, especially when theyre 29!!
Must be said tho, none on the 'ITKs' actually know anything, im pretty sure theyre just impatient fans like the rest of us that just write things to kill the suspense and boredom of a transfer window. They're a good read but i dont take them seriously.

Young still has a lot to prove. Does not score goals often enough and goes missing in a lot of games. The figures being quoted are absolutely astronomical for the level of player he is. Fabiano is past his best and would have prehaps 2-3 years max left in him at the highest standard. Plus 25m is just too much money for a player of his age.

That is the last thing we should be doing. We are only financially sound because Levy has made us that way. Such a short memory. There is no point in competeing in a transfer window where prices are inflated as well as the value of £'s being low. Its bad buisness sense. Unfortunately Levy is running a buisness. I understand you're angry from the Wigan result no doubt but wholesale changes are not needed.

It appears that we have made offers for these players. I haven't any reports suggesting Levy has flat out said no to Harry's targets. If the clubs are asking for ridiculous transfer fees or the players/agents are asking for wages that are too much for the talent that we have targeted then Levy is right to say no.

I never mentioned anything about Konchesky!

I meant Liverpool are bust, not in CL and still buy players like Cole, Raul Meireles,Poulsen and still looking to bring in another striker.

I think you will find it was nightgoat who mentioned Konchesky!
