For the first time i can remember- and going back to at least 1960 i would guess- no Spurs player in the England squad.

Walker probably and Townsend possibly would have been in if fit but our other English players were deemed not good enough. Doesn't say a great deal for them, though i could not argue with Hodgson's judgement on that on form.

It does diminish my interest in the England team though. I remember the pride i felt when Mullery and Peters scored against Germany in 1970 and even in Jermaine's goal last time...

I feel proud when our players play for England. A real shame. Gutted for Andros and Kyle.

Only walker is probably good enough. Which is quite revealing of our English players especially as this is the worst English World Cup squad since I started following football in 1986.

Just shows how much we have fallen behind. Didn't we have 5-6 players in the squad a few years back?

I was surprised to see Walker miss out. I know he has been injured but I think he has time to recover and at least be in the squad. We already knew Townsend was ruled out. There really are no other contenders. The rest of our English players are simply not good enough.

Roy hodgson must have his Lennon blinkers on! Every other manager seems to see something in him!

I agree, not that I am saying they are all bad players but there arnt really any stars in that squad or players that would put fear into opponents..although it could work to our advantage maybe?

Disappointing, but really only Walker would of made it. I think Townsend would of been on the stand by list, as I can't see how he would of ousted and of the other midfielders selected.

Walker and Townsend would have both gone had they not been injured. But being injured only doesn't matter if you play for Arsenal.

Fuck England, Spurs 1st, 2nd, 3rd for me, no world cup means our players would be less tired and more of a pre season with us

Some of the Utd players should not be going either although I'd take Carrick over the likes of Wilshere. Doesn't matter much as I doubt we'll get past the second round, I'll be interested to see how our Belgians get on and it would be nice to see Paulinho lift the cup and come back a world champion.

I enjoy the World Cup more when there's less expectation on England.

@feet01 Are you a Wilshere lover or something?
