Probably the biggest and most supporter splitting signing we have had in recent times. TBH I think he has all the physical attributes needed to be a success with us, the only thing to question is his mentality. There is the argument that he is inconsistent but that can be rebutted with the argument he was in a shocking bad team since his arrival in England.

One thing I think we can all agree on is that this is a Poch signing, at 27 and around £30M I can't see Levy pushing this through on his own, and I'm a proud BSoDL.

This is a simple open vote where members can vote for or against.

I think it's pretty risk free... I love how the structured payments will work... 6M per year for 5years, most likely a minimum of... Maybe 15 to 18M. So we can give him a couple of seasons and see how things go...

If he does well. He would most likely be rewarded with a new contract and look like a bargain for 30m, if he is not, we can sell him for a "loss" for about 20M, and still be making a profit even thou technically we are selling him off lower then what we bought him for. Heck we might even add a buy back clause at 25M so we screw Newcastle of 5M and we save a few million too. Seriously what a deal.... :ROFLMAO:

But now I am fully behind him to do well, he is one of us now. And I expect nothing less then the best form him.

Voted yes. He has ability and I trust that Poch, the fierce competition for a place in the team, and the limelight of competing in the CL/race for top four will bring the best out of him.

Yes, for France and also under Benetiz for the few last games he was managing Newcastle Sissoko was excellent so under a good manager I feel he will do well. Have to remember last few seasons the players at Newcastle have been playing under McClaren and Carver.

He'll be a hit but will be maligned by the net spend fanboys regardless, judging him on his transfer fee rather than on his actual contributions to the team.

The same mob that still jump on Lamela's back

"Balls on the line" ? What do you propose our female members put on the line ? ;)

I voted Yes, because he has to be. If not there could be repercussion for MoPo & we don't need or want that.

I'm not convinced but I think he will do better than our other French signing this window.

Voted yes, I can see him and dembele doing real damage over the course of the season.

Still displeased at the price though, and I think that is what splits people; Not his ability.

Yes for me, working with better players and a manager that can get the best out of him more often than not.

I suspect he will be decent, nothing more which shouldnt be the case for a £30 million record signing.

I'd love it if he became Player of the year.

Particularly if he's had a good read about what the Newcastle & Everton fans have being saying about him and gets some fire in his belly.

There are reports that he cost us £25m. And if that allows Lamela to play in the middle more (as others have said) could be a very smart buy,,,,,ever the optimist.

Think he will do ok, but that's all relative really. People need to realise that 30 million pounds isn't what it used to be though.

Lamela isn't going to play in middle because that would mean Ali would have to be played out of position. Even £25 million is far too much for him, put it this way if this deal had happened at the start of the window the reaction would have been very different but because of the usual window hysteria and the desperate clamour for large fee transfer such a deal somehow becomes acceptable.

Meant in Eriksen's position.
