Because they never could imagine reaching that level.I do find it strange how these young players find it funny to mock Kane.
I just find it really poor the level of mocking Kane has to put up with.Because they never could imagine reaching that level.
Yep and they wouldn’t get away with it so easily with other players.Kane is England captain, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, never in the press for any extra curricular activities, married his childhood sweetheart, never used his family to make money in the glossy mags, got to the top by squeezing every ounce of talent out…..
Yet everybody mocks him. It boils my piss.
Down to jealousy and a lack of brains IMHO.Kane is England captain, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, never in the press for any extra curricular activities, married his childhood sweetheart, never used his family to make money in the glossy mags, got to the top by squeezing every ounce of talent out…..

It's because he isn't 'cool'Kane is England captain, doesn’t drink, doesn’t smoke, never in the press for any extra curricular activities, married his childhood sweetheart, never used his family to make money in the glossy mags, got to the top by squeezing every ounce of talent out…..

Do you need to use the language to make your point? When I was that age, professional comics were making jokes about niggers, queers and spastics. When he was that age, even 10-year olds knew better. And he deliberately created and published that, it's not like an off-the-cuff comment to his mates. Makes me think he's as thick as pigshit.
The answer is always yes. Parents who get upset about 'cancel culture' and 'everyone's so quick to get offended these days' using words at home that they'd never say in public. Not just Kane, exactly though.
Not that Kane is (to my knowledge) disabled, but more that when people go to mock him they mock speech impediments and, in the case of Harvey Elliot, they use the same words that I thought had been wiped from acceptable language in the last century. Sometimes I feel awful about how common it was to mock people with disabilities in school in the 90's. IIRC 'Scope' even changed their name to avoid the negative connotations of the original charity's name.
I find it saddening that Justin Fletcher has been normalising/supporting disabilities on Cbeebies for 18 or 19 years this year, and yet there's still people who are recycling the same old tropes. Is it perpetuated by the parents or something?

Chances are they're not just making fun of speech impediments either. Probably racist and sexist tropes as well that get passed down to the children.

Wow quite a leap and the irony of generalising groups of people is a nice touchThe answer is always yes. Parents who get upset about 'cancel culture' and 'everyone's so quick to get offended these days' using words at home that they'd never say in public.

Yeah I remember that, she’d taught him to sing Millwall fuck ‘em all and was beaming with pride at him.Reminds me now of that video of Millwall or West ham fans - it was a middle aged woman in a car (possibly a grandmother) laughing because she'd taught what looked like a 6 year old something racist or offensive. That's how I remember it, but not sure if you know what I'm on about (not sure how to go about searching for it either).
Seems to be an issue now with people not realising it's not okay and there are consequences, because they weren't taught not to do that when they were kids. It's like JoJo Rabbit (if you've seen it), where you wonder if it's the kids fault if that's how they've been conditioned.
What, did it hit a little too close to home? What was generalizing about what I said? I know plenty of these types of people.Wow quite a leap and the irony of generalising groups of people is a nice touch
