So in 2016 they take it for 99 years and in one 15m move get a stadium with a higher capacity than us. Irks me

They won't fill it tho

They should keep those LED lights on the seats.

It'll make it looklike theres more fans in the stadium than there actually is.

They could even attach binoculars to it.

Teams getting by on handouts is really starting to piss me off, if its not Chelsea/Man City etc with their billionaires then its these muppets getting a freebie purpose built stadium.

There is a crumb of comfort in that doing things the right way, when we do start winning things, and we will, it will be all the more gratifying.

Quote from BBC article:

"West Ham will be anchor tenants for the Olympic Stadium after the government agreed to put in an extra £25m towards the costs of converting the venue.

The additional money takes the Treasury's contribution to around £60m."

Why the fuck should they get free hand outs?

There appears to be a 'W' missing from that headline.

It's not "theirs" though. They don't own it and they can't count it as an asset. At least with our new stadium, it will be ours forever and that's a massive difference imo.

Why wasn't this part of our proposal?

aren't the seating of the stadium already close to track level?

im not sure what the plans are regarding the retractable seating, or how its gong to be done, but fans are still going to be too far from the pitch for a good atmosphere.

retractable seating cant have too much of a slope on it as it would then start to cover up the seating that is already there, and unless they only see the seats in this area it will push fans further away with a gap between them.

I must admit I don't see how retractable seating would work.

There wouldn't be any tiered effect because of the existing front row seats being at ground level.

Who wants to spend a match staring at the back of the head of the person in front of them?!

That said, won't be an issue in their case as there won't be anyone in the seats most of the time anyways.

Have a look at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada. It works really well there

City were not only gifted a billionare but also a brand spanking new stadium.
